So on this David Dimbleby night for the BBC, I have a question...
Is Question Time usually live or recorded? Because I'm pretty sure tonight's would be recorded, seeing as he's hosting the election coverage straight after Question Time.

It's recorded,"as live" at around 8.30 in the evening

Yes, and it's being held in Barnes in south west London tonight, so he'll have a good two hours to get from there to Television Centre, or the Westminster studios (whichever is being used for tonight's coverage). Should be plenty of time.
Looks like it is coming from Millbank. There is a video on the Newsnight website with Jeremy Vine showing what he is going to do with the graphics etc. and the location of it is the Westminster newsroom; where the newsroom set usually is has been covered up with blue screen for the VR stuff. The main programme itself will come from the main studio round the corner.
Did Sky's coverage only begin at 10.30pm? The title sequence was rather nice, but it seemed like a rather flat introduction, compared to some of the slick ones we've had in the past. Also, the very white newswall backing is a bit on the bright side. Martin's on the graphics, which are as snazzy as you'd expect.
"Are the voters of Brent cross with the government?" Oooh.
A special ticker for the evening's just appeared. It says "OTE 06". Safe areas, anyone? It also looks like it might have some Frutiger on it; the old Sky News font.
I saw Jeremy Vine's preview on the 10 O'Clock news - it seemed like he was trying too hard to be Peter Snow. Wonder if we'll be treated to a spot of Rick Wakeman for the title sequence?

I assume Vine's at TVC. I actually quite like the way they haven't bothered with a fake background, its just a dark studio with the walls and fixtures visible. Adds quite a bit of atmosphere that way I think.
There was a nice Vote 2006 aston during the regional news - although the height of it meant the LIVE + location dogs were nearly halfway up the screen on South East Today.

He's at Westminster. Go to the Newsnight website to see a bit behind the scenes.
David Dimbleby had to watch his words there at the end of Question Time - no reference to BBC One, because Scotland's opted out, and Wales and NI have both timeshifted Question Time. He's apparently going for a "quick change" and "over to the election night studio", according to the continuity announcer...
