New style ITV News (UPDATED: 10 Nov)

So a quick look at how ITV News could be reworked with the new style ITV logos.

The titles animate in a similar way to before, but the cubes form the logo instead:

For regional news the ITV News logo animates on from the bottom, with the programme title animating in the same way as currently.

The astons are a little bit trickier - here's a quick idea I had, but ain't really happy with, so as usual feel free to share your ideas.

(Note for regional news the square on the left is replaced with an image of the region).

I quite like the logo, it fits in with the whole ITV package.

that's far better, and less squashed.

However, the big square under ITV is designed for just one digit. Mabye, and this sounds very stupid and would never ever get onto our screens, but howabout shortening ITV News to ITV N?! Go on, make a mock of it!

I like The Mock Lab's logo, but the original mocks, I really hate them!

Yea, Chinese news channels uses "N". TVBS-N, SETN and CTI-N where the TVBS, SET and CTI are the broadcaster's organisation name...

I'm not too sure about the logo. While the idea seems right because of the new logo arrangement of the other channels, there's quite a bit of wasted space. ITVN would only really work if it was all on one line.

Maybe the "news" text could be placed lower down in the box and have some sort of logo or animation above that (in the same box).

I did try that at first but it just didn't look right!

Another possibility is moving the "itv" squares inside the box.

I thought about that too, but then I thought it might look too much like the old logo. But it might be something to try, I'll have a go!

It doesn't sound *that* stupid! After all, Newyddion BBC has a big pointless "N" as it's equivalent of BBC1 network news' 1/6/10, so why not?!
