Sky/CNN/ITN Newsreader Alison Bell Arrested

Arrested for drug dealing with James Hewitt, Sky are saying.

Think she was last presenting for CNN.

She always looked happy.

I recognize Alison Bell's face but dont remember why or where I recognize her from?

Which UK news channels has she presented for?

She presented on the ITN/ITV News channel since its launch. Not sure when she stopped appearing on there, but she had been doing Sky News for quite a long time - i'd hazard at least a year.

Sunrise at weekends mostly, but when the whole show became a bit of a mess of presenters I seem to recall her doing it most mornings. Also has done Live at Five, I think.

Last I saw of her was on CNN International's World News Europe. As far as I knew, she was still presenting there until today. Sky report says she also read the news on LBC.

Quite surprising. She doesn't exactly seem "the type". She was actually a very good newsreader, IIRC.

Alison Bell has presented the Early Breakfast on LBC 97.3 between 6am and 7am and also the news until 10 am all this week (obviously not today though!!)

Bloomen heck, what a shocker. Mainly why Alison had anything to do with that tw*t, Hewitt.

This is really shocking for me personally and the whole newsreader community (that includes me in a couple of years)... I have seen Alison Bell lots of times on CNN and she always laughed and made jokes. She always seemed so professional yet human... She used to almost begged viewers to stay with CNN as she shouted: "Don't go away!" Loved that. Horrifying news she has been involved in such case.

Careful what you say, she hasn't been found guilty of anything.

News 24 have just reported Hewitt has been bailed.

Of course am not Let me explain this... Alison is being made to look like the bad guy but shes the victim Hewitts the bad guy

Well, I don't think really that either of them are likely to be polishing their halos. They've been arrested because they were both 'bad'.

As the law stands, what Alison Bell was arrested for - intent to supply, I assume - is a great deal more serious than what Hewitt was arrested for.

Buying drugs is a lot less serious than dealing them, in the eyes of the law.
