Just watched the Lenny Henry Show. What does everyone think? Doesn't seem as funny as the last series to me.

Have to agree with both of you.
I gave it about ten minutes, then escaped to BBC Two for some snooker.

Thing is, I like Lenny Henry very much. He's excellent. But his show tonight and the whole of his last series, for me, were completely unfunny. Yet the number of awards he wins for the series and the amount of praise he gets, I can't work it out.

I now find Lenny much better as a serious actor.
I enjoyed the couple of series with him as the headmaster, but, like DAS, didn't so much as raise a smile during what I saw of tonight's effort.

It was ok, not brilliant but ok.
Nothing will beat CHEF, or whatever it was called, fantastic comedy that was.
Lets face it, i'd rather watch Lenny Henry than something like Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps

I preferred 'Lenny Henry in Pieces' this isn't one of his best shows.

I much prefer Lenny stand up meself, but nothing will beat the 2 Delbert Wilkins series from 87/88 IMO. (Needs a video/DVD release please, Beeb Worldwide!)
Like the Cameo / Totp 2 spoof last night too !

I take my previous comments back. Tonight's episode was much funnier! I wonder if the producers have been reading this thread?
