From 17th April
8:30 - 10:00 The Saturday Show
10:00 - 11:00 The Mysti Show
11:00 - 12:00 Top of the Pops Saturday

Simon is returning for TSS, but Jake Humphreys and Angelica Bell will join him.
And again... it's going to have another new look and new line-up. As usual, it's from Scotland for the summer until Dick and Dom return in the Autumn.

Fearne will present TOTP Saturday and from the beeb:

"The Mysti Show is a ground-breaking mix of drama and entertainment and features Mysti who is half-human and half-fairy and is torn between her two worlds.

Each week Mysti and her friends Rick, Ella and Ollie explore life in both worlds, dealing with the universal ups and downs of growing up.

Adding comedy to the concoction - and premiering on children's TV - is stand-up comedian James Campbell whose unique brand of ingenious humour guarantees some Saturday morning rib-tickling. " And that's being produced by a new production company.

On Sunday it looks like Smile will be on from 7:30 to 10:30 on BBC TWO and will be on 10:00 until 11:00 on the CBBC Channel.

I think having lots of shows in the morning isn't the way to go. I think TOTPSaturday will only be able to be high in the ratings is if it's live, which looks unlikely, although certain members of the bungalow are joining its production team.

It looks like viewers will be pushed away to digital channels as there isn't anything too special on either channels, but for the parents that hate Dick and Dom it looks like a programme dealing with tips for growing up may not be the perfect replacement.

This sound like a promising line up. Something the BBC havent really done before. We'll see what happens.

I dont think they should have taken Dick and Dom off until september. They are both two of the nicest people i have ever met. (PS I met them before my tour of TVC and they brought me into the bungalow) But i dont know about the way they have to work. They go in about 12 to start recording the Diddy Dick and Dom's and end about 5, so they both deserve a break.

Unless they moved production of Dick and Dom up to Glasgow, then they were always going to take a break over the summer.
I just thick having 3 shows is a bit excessive. Should have left it to The Saturday Show and TOTP(sat)

The Saturday Show, that early? An hour and a half? Ridicolous!

I saw Simon the other day presenting with Rani, and yes - his hair did need a good wash!

I would doubt they would move up to Glasgow cos most of the people who work there on the show have London accents and it might be hard for them both to get there each week. I don't know where they live! Sadly Wink

Saw them mention that the Saturday Show was going to be on at 8:30 on CBBC this afternoon.

It's a very strange decision, unless the Mysti Show is incredibly good. If MoM buck up their ideas they could surely win.
I will be watching the Saturday Show and MoM, from the 17th.

From the new trailers for the Saturday Show the logo appears to be the same, though they will have to change the titles as they featured Simon & Fearne! That's if they show the titles, last year in Glasgow they didn't have the titles on that often.

I take with it finishing at 10 that Saturday Show Extra isn't returning!

One way they could get around the Scotland thing is to give them the Sunday slot by either moving Smile up to Glasgow for the summer or have Fully Booked or FBi or a new show air.
Bring back the Saturday Show with TOTP Saturday mixed for 3 hours, and everything's fine.

It will be interesting to see how the viewers like pre recorded things on a Saturday Morning. Will be very interesting indeed!

The Mysti Show will have to be outstanding to retain the audience needed to beat the live M.O.M. and if viewers turn over after The Saturday Show chances are they won't switch back for TOTP Saturday. Having no live show leading up to 11.00am could be a big mistake and risk CBBCs lead in the Saturday morning ratings that da Bungalow have maintained for all these months. Having TSS starting at 8.30am is a mistake. How may kids will bother getting up 30 mins earlier than their used to? Returning to the familier 9 2 12 postcode and running time should have been the plan with Fearne in Glasgow and all the guest music acts being worked into the Saturday Show games and competitions all morning and then performing during the live TOTP Saturday with a hundred screaming fans in the audience.
The Saturday Show April 17th:
Simon Grant, Angellica Bell and Jake Humphrey introduces a fun-filled morning of music, chat and entertainment. There's live music from McFly, and Basil Brush and Dani Harmer (Tracey Beaker) are in the studio. Including Rugrats and the Woody Woodpecker Show.
Not bad for the first week but the average show last year many times had double the guests for April 17th. Not having the music show in Scotland makes TSS less important for popstars/bands. Hopefully the Celebrity Booker has lined up the very best for the weeks and months ahead.

They've started the Mysti Show trails now. It looks like the Simon trail had a gunge tank in it... sounds similar to the other channel really. It doesn't sound too bad though. Dororthy Prior has said that she wanted something different on Saturday morning as its been the same for thirty years (hence Dick and Dom and Mysti), but she has kept TOTPs on for people that would like that.
It might be better doing another show from BBC Scotland from early in the morning from 7ish till about 11ish on the CBBC channel to rival Digginit all year round so they can more live shows from London studios on ONE.

I think the only thing that will let it down at the moment is that it looks like 10 - 12 will be pre-recorded. If they did TSS live from Scotland with TOTP Satuday following they could put Mysti in like a programme which runs for 40 mins and is put into 2 different parts of 20 mins.
Personally, I'd still prefer a mixed show where music is mixed throughout the show, not just at the end.
