Just been hearing this from a fellow i know who works at Channel television.

Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere

Apparently Channel Television and Carlton TV have joined forces with a company in Europe and are bringing a brand new ITV1 Prime-Time gameshow to Jersey in the Channel Isles.

It will have elements of Gladiators as well as other things, but Kylie has almost been confirmed to host it.

It will also have special celeb guest stars performing on the show.

It is definitely going ahead, as my parents who work in catering have been asked to provide catering every day for the 150 crew members working on the project.

It will be filmed in July as far as i know.

Has anybody heard anything else about this, sounds VERY interesting!

That fact alone makes the whole thing virtually unbelievable...

Well the series is DEFINITELY going ahead, and they are getting some high profile person to host it. Kylie hasn't been pulled out of a hat though, i think there are at least TALKS with her about it

Update:

The Media Centre where i work has been approached to provide equipment and technical expertise for the filming, which is set to happen within the next couple of months.

We are having a meeting on the 7th June to discuss the show, so if i hear anything worth stating, i'll let you know Wink

Why are they going to shoot it on film?

At a guess I would think that the expression 'filming' is used in the broad sense, and that the show will be videotaped.

But surely you knew that already?

Does Carlton still exist as a production company (like Granada and LWT) ?
Or should it not be Channel and ITV plc collaborate ?

sorry film was just an expression,

Well from all the phone calls and that we've got, the name Carlton has popped up a number of times.

I can't wait to see what endcap they use on the show

Probably Carlton as it still, dispite what press reports said at the time, continuing as a brand at least for the time being.

I suppose its all to do with staff and their contracts and working conditions etc which might be different that what Granada did.
