And not enough people in the gallery to actually get the right titles / astons / camera shots out most of the time.

Just out of interest, how many people are in the N24 gallery at any one time? Who does what? Smile

To my knowledge, there are 4 during the day, and 3 overnight. I imagine one for vision, one for sound and one for communications. Not sure about the fourth one - something to do with the autoque perhaps? It might not be that rigid though, as I imagine during major news, it's all hands on deck? I'm sure someone with more knowledge can help me out on this one.

Isn't there a text producer or something, for all the wonderful text?

4 really doesn't seem that many, considering I've seen more working on one of the smallest regional local opts...

Whilst watching News 24 last night at 10pm, I noticed that Tim Willcox had replaced Jon Sopel who was on at 9pm with Louise Minchin. Can anybody explain a reason for this?

Does no-one here know how to spell autocue? I've seen it misspelt at least four times in the last week.

So News 24 have more *technical people* on than BBC World?!? Before the relaunch I'd have said that World was better output than N24, but since the relaunch they're both not too good at all.

The biggest fault is the playing of the generic BBC NEWS titles at the TOTH or the Headlines or Coming Up graphics failing!

Those figures are quite interesting Marucs.

He was on all morning and afternoon (till 3) with the Budget Coverage - he came back later to present the special in the evening.

You've spelt it correct there!

Yes. That's because he knows how to spell it, and was highlighting the fact that - as he's seen it misspelt so often recently - it seems that "no-one" knows how to. Of course, there will be people here who know how to spell it, but making an exaggerated statement such as that emphasises the point.

Another example would be if I were to say "Does no-one on here have a single f*cking brain cell?" to highlight the increase in utterly mindless posts. Again, it's fair to say that some users may have at least one brain cell - although not many - but it emphasises the plague that continues to spread through TV Forum quite nicely.

And overnight there only tends to be one editorial person in the gallery. So the biggest audience (on BBC One, BBC News 24, BBC World and hundreds of PBS stations in the US) has the least staff in the gallery.

I'd love to know the official reasoning behind this. The fact the audience doesn't diminish can't have been forgotten by the BBC - surely it must have been considered when drawing up overnight staffing arrangements. So how can they justify the fact there are so few people running the show? It seems utter madness but, as I say, there must be a reason behind it somewhere.
