Another random presentation observation - HARDtalk on BBC World today had a slight tweak to its astons: the name and person description font had been changed from the usual Swiss 721 to the rather vile Swiss 721 Extended, which looks like someone has stepped on the all the letters, and then tied them between two cars driving in opposite directions. Hideous.
Why must they continually tweak things for the worse?
Why must they continually tweak things for the worse?
I think it's a BBC News 24 obsession. They get a nice set of graphics, and then think to themselves, "How can we really f**k it up a bit?". It's a real shame, as their new graphics are great IMO, but they will insist on unnecessary titting about like the whole fuss with the location strap.
I can only imagine they've got too many graphics people with too little to do with their time.

I actually prefer the new location strap to the original, mind you. (The one above the tower was vile, though.)
I still think it should be stuck to the tower, on top of it, but horizontally like it was straight after the relaunch so they don't have those width problems. But then it would stick out if they weren't using it with the three-line aston, so they'd have to keep that on the screen (it's on the screen most of the tiem when the LIVE graphic is anyway so it wouldn't make much difference.

Too many managers with to much time to fiddle
And not enough people in the gallery to actually get the right titles / astons / camera shots out most of the time.
