5 live played a clean version of their full TOTH bed at 9:57. It’s on BBC Sounds.

The sportsday headlines are there as normal on the version of BBC News at 10 on iPlayer. Is this prerecorded?

Curious. Wonder how they managed that at no notice and with nobody in the building? Unless Leeds took the network ident knowing they were also going out in the North West?

They were leaving the building at 2155 I guess it depends if there was a pre-evacuation alert that allowed them to be a little more prepared. Is there a central hub that has visibility of all regions (Birmingham?). Do any regions have fire alarm systems that can immediately notify them?

It was more how they got the network announcement and Leeds headlines that I was querying. Unless it was just a fluke of when CCM did the switch?

I wonder if CCM have the regional fire alarm/evac etc statuses available to them, they may have switched Leeds in circuit, without waiting for a phone call from Salford ? Or am I overthinking ?

I gave up using the totally mad assignable lifts at Salford, and always took the stairs !

(I've worked elsewhere, where assignable lifts work brilliantly, it's clearly all in the code ! )

I could understand that, but the bit that is confusing me is that in the North West they got the network announcement at 10pm with the Leeds headlines.

That suggests that CCM did the switch during the network headlines. It would probably have been better to leave the network sport filler to go out in the headlines rather than the Leeds headlines trailing a bulletin that might not go out if Salford was able to go on air. Obviously it's easy to say that with hindsight but the specific point at which it was switched seems curious.

Just seen this TikTok from a member of BBC NWT: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeD8DQ8Q/

Don’t think I’ve seen this position before - like Glasgow I think who also have a similar setup in their newsroom?
