I wouldn't be surprised if those two editions of Packed Lunch rate better than Steph or Helen Skelton presenting last Friday.
But is there any buzz about it whatsoever? I can’t say I’ve seen anything at all. If it wasn’t for this thread I wouldn’t have a clue the programme was on, let alone who is covering as host.
There seemed to be a bit of a buzz on Twitter of the many Partridge moments but probably nothing significant enough to change the ratings (or lack of!) too much
I have sort of enjoyed the show with Richard though (and even Helen), I find they genuinely seem interested in the guests and their stories as opposed to Steph just going 'Yeah, yeah, oh yeah' and basically sticking to her script
They do seem to have silently dropped the £1,000 viewer phone in feature unless that is just because Steph is away
I thought Helen was good, her delivery felt refreshing. I find Steph often reads the autocue and then adds a question or statement, like she’s saying what she thinks about the topic coming up, which sort of interrupts her flow.
They have dropped ‘4 For A Grand’, I think they finished it the week before the Christmas break.
Not really surprising though, Plumbs don’t even sponsor the show anymore, now being sponsorless as they were at launch.

In the overnights Steph's Packed Lunch has been consistently rating around 200k since Jan 4th.
The One O'Clock News on BBC One has been rating between 3.7 and 4.1m since Jan 11th, just to illustrate the ratings competition. Loose Women is getting 1.1-1.3m

Would be interesting to see how Channel 5 and BBC Two do in that slot.
apart from obvious economic reasons, I don’t know why Bill is even getting involved with this prog. The world is surely his oyster now.
Have to say even in the 10 mins I’ve just watched, the Steph-less show is about 100 times better than the version with her in it. It feels more like a Sunday Brunch vibe.

Got to say, sadly, I do agree with this.
Enjoyed Richard & Helen this week. Steph is a great presenter & journalist, but just don’t think she suits the show they’re trying to make.
I do wonder how the Jon & Lucy Richardson show would’ve worked out. What with them being comedians, but it’d hardly have been a laugh every minute show in this form...
Interesting comment over on the Digital Spy ratings thread, apparently during a podcast Jacqui Smith who appears quite often on the show mentioned they send a taxi to her home in Great Malvern to take her to Leeds then back again, a 300 mile round trip of 3 hours each way! (for a 90 minute show)
