Interesting that Piers phoned Susanna Reid.

Why is their set so cheap looking?

Well that kind of the point, it’s a different format based on the format and utilising the brand of other.

Interesting, that background is of a modern era Millionaire set, despite him sitting in the regular hot seat set. I wonder if they’re get a new one.

I think the Australian Millionaire set has always been pretty much a compact pack up/wheel out job for studio space purposes since the start of the original. The show has moved locations during Covid etc so easy to put together. This set has barely changed. Looks like the prime time return will just be the same set as the previous original and hotseat with different lighting similar to the current US/UK>

I wouldn't be surprised if it's still being filmed in Queensland after being moved temporarily there due to the Covid restrictions in Victoria hence the slightly different set.

It has returned to Victoria now. Only moved really so the host could follow his football team who were bubbled there.

That's right, I actually forgot Eddie McGuire is president of Collingwood.

No matter what incarnation of the show Australia has done, they always seem to use ridiculously low seats. If Melbourne can keep up the good work and keep their Covid cases to a bare minimum, I wonder if they will get an audience in come January.

I don't think losing the audience is too much of a problem with our version other than losing Ask the Audience. I don't think the second Phone a Friend lifeline is much use when you only have two friends to choose from.

Does anyone know the overnight ratings for the specials?

The only bit I’m aware of is that Sunday’s was above 2m.

ITV can't decide if they want to call the final million pound winners episode "The Million Pound Question" or "A Very Major Scandal" it seems!

Not quite sure why they're covering Ingram AGAIN when they could have surely cobbled up a show for Donald Fear who is actually a million pound winner!

Probably because it would likely gain more viewers. Wasn’t it originally meant to be 7 episodes? So it sounds like they decided to not air the Donald Fear one? I think the change of name for this special was a late decision hence why there is two names knocking around.

This is an odd show. There's nothing wrong with it, per se, but the pacing is off. The interjections with completely different Millionaire episodes don't help. Also, it doesn't have anything like the atmosphere of the original Martin Bashir doc, for all that programme's imperfections. This is enjoyable enough... But slightly flat!
Meridian AM and Alfie Mulcahy gave kudos

The best line was "When James May cheats at Monopoly (which he does) only 3 or 4 other people notice"

Seems like David Edwards, Robert Brydges and Pat Gibson declined to participate with their opinion...Robert maybe not a surprise considering he refused to take part in the Million Pound Winner series

Edwards & Gibson were part of it. Brydges obviously not as declined. Talking heads all recorded their bits all at same "recordings".

Interestingly Radio Times reported tonights episode as Series 33 18/20, so either they've got that wrong or these 'new' episodes were filmed at the same time as the previous lot and there are only going to be 3!

Self contained again and perhaps even filmed before Donald Fear as I was half expecting a reference from Jeremy at the start of the show (granted it felt like a lot was edited out to squeeze 3 contestants into the hour)

Also confused.com have a new sponsorship bumper which is a bit naff compared to the previous ones!
