From what I saw the titles and music are exactly the same as before, there’s a new backdrop behind the pundits and some small tweaks to the graphics.
New backdrop was also being used towards the tail end of last season - it allows them to match the background in Studio 7 (the "normal" studio) and the pundits sat upstairs in front of the Hub in the SSN Newsroom.
Has Pougatch left BT or is Currie filling in for whatever reason?
Make what you will of this tweet:
Can’t wait to get going with @btsportscore this season alongside the brilliant @julesbreach and the rest of the team. Very excited to take on the new role. Plus tomorrow we also bring you Crystal Palace v Southampton Live as part of the show as well. See you then 👍📺 https://t.co/bG6BMZfQJb
I don't have any argument with the other posts about autumn rugby so far, I'll just add my tuppenth that I don't like the idea of multiple pay-TV providers. In England currently, BT do an excellent job with club rugby & Sky have a pretty reasonable stab at the internationals that aren't FTA. Pro-14 in Wales & Scotland is with Premier (that I've not heard great reports about, but still), but then you'd have no need for Sky.
Apart from Amazon not being a linear broadcaster with recordable channels, it forces Engligh fans to have 3 separate subscriptions. I know it's a one-off tournament, and hopefully that's part of it. When the European Cups were split across Sky & BT, it was messy - and was much improved when BT were given the total package.
Having said all that, I do like the idea of the autumn series having one central TV deal rather than individual nations as they've been thus far. A FTA/pay-combination would be a good outcome, considering how things have been upto now.
Why zero they must have the music in their archives?
Oh I'm sure they do, but it sounds and looks incredibly dated.
I don’t agree it’s futuristic with an exciting theme tune, I see Premier League TV have changed their titles not sure what to make of it.
The theme full of old, unrealistic synth brass sounds and is hardly memorable. The titles are a total 90s time-warp. It may have looked futuristic then, but it's retrofuturistic at best now.
