According to wiki Steve Rider also did the sport on the late bulletin during his original stint at ITV which I've never seen evidence of so not sure if true.
I liked the ITN Lottery Result bulletin after 1995 as it featured a very cool sting at the end. It was similar to the short sting used after the headlines on various bulletins, but also had a very short, but dramatic, build-up. I don't believe that particular sting was used for anything else.
It's interesting they left it to ITN rather than doing it as part of continuity, though being regional continuity at the time would probably have complicated that (though denied us 15 varying efforts!). It's the sort of thing a few years earlier you'd have expected unions to object to.
I remember the first four balls matching my parents ticket when I was a kid. I think I'd have been dead by the time the sixth number came out. I'm guessing the Lottery updates were axed by 1999 as I don't remember them in the red/blue "ITV News" look.
Also interesting to see that preceded with an ident. I'm probably misremembering but I can't recall YTV ever doing that.
I wonder who showed the caption to the network when they originally did the in-programme strap? The company putting out that particular programme or the nominated contractor? I assume the fact it was ITN branded meant little more than just associating it with the brief newsflash that was also shown.

They read the result during the news, this example being the first week of the ITV News branding. I'm guessing it was a similar situation on the Saturday https://youtu.be/LWH91cNjZok?t=136
She's also got a new show on ITV as part of Black History Month called Charlene and Friends.
I do love Charlene's career path - put in the hours on the ITV Morning News for what seemed like years and then given a shot when the Morning News was axed as a relief presenter on the daytime and weekend bulletins and now regularly hosting the Evening News. Is she still officially the host of London Tonight as well - IIRC she got that role when Nina became the main lunchtime host (and Nina doesn't seem to appear now too often outside of lunchtime) but as she's been mainly covering for Mary since returning from maternity leave I assume she hasn't yet returned to London Tonight.
