Another special set of titles tonight for a special programme to mark 100 days since lockdown started. Not in the usual format, and I assume the somber version of the theme tune.

Also, as there was no news in the programme tonight, they’ve produced a short 3 minute online edition of the programme;

Interestingly too Gordon Burns tweeted his opinion. Never known him to be critical of NWT before.

Surely they could have fitted the news summary into the actual programme.

Ideally this type of programme should really have been broadcast in a separate slot, (at 7:30 where most extra regional content tends to appear) to actually give viewers in the North West their regional news. It seems the days of English regional programming outside the news are over however.

I'm sorry if I sound like a beggar, but does anyone have this track in full? I'd appreciate it if someone uploaded that.

Nice titles though agree the bulletin should have been within the programme - although of course virtually every news bulletin of the last three months has been devoted to Coronavirus and the lockdown almost entirely.

It is a shame that options for regional programming outside of the news slots are diminishing in England. It happens with Granada too who occassionally dedicate their 6pm show to one issue. Actually was thinking earlier that their "From the North" podcast on the ITV News website could easily be tweaked into a regular regional TV fixture.

Well we know it's being cut down to one anchor and I suspect they'll be having to sacrifice both reporting staff and those behind the scenes too as part of the recent cuts.

With 450 jobs going across the BBC England regions and over 600 volunteering for redundancy these are just the first of many.
