Looking at those, I think they started off looking dreadful, and then got progressively worse.

Oof at that ident cutting to a different shot just as it fades into the titles on that 2008 example. Also the description says 'now in widescreen', pretty sure Doctors was in widescreen from the beginning.

I hadn't realised, until now, that it wasn't always the case going by the 2001 example.

I guess they see crap titles with characters in boxes and more boxes is kinda their thing for titles. Like the EastEnders map and the Corrie cat.

I never understand whether Letherbridge is meant to be in Birmingham, or a town just outside. They talk about it as if it’s a town in own right but talk about other areas in the centre of Birmingham as if they’re near by whilst also referring to Birmingham as if it’s a separate place. I guess if we were to place it, it would be on Redditch to Birmingham train line somewhere between Longbridge and Selly Oak, which of course is roughly were the show is made.

It's probably comparable to the distance from Beverley to Hull. Which aren't far apart at all.

Actually, it's now eight, since one of the nine was yesterday's episode.
