I too prefer the original. It had more of a tense atmosphere in keeping with the mood of the game.

Just wondering to all the WWTBAM fans on the forum (like me), do you prefer the 2007 rave remix music or the original 1998 package? For me it’s definitely the original music but I’ve heard others really like the remixed theme tune.

There's been a few packages over the years. For me, it's the 1998 package, then Super MIllionaire from 2004 then the USA 2008 Package. Never really rated the 2007 package.

Was the UK pilot theme song ever released?

My favourite package is 1998. I also like the Australian theme tune from 1999-2004.

Same here, 1998 music for me. I can see where they were going with the rave music, but it didn’t fit the tense atmosphere of the show.

I think Matthew Strachan did a pretty good job of updating the music for the USA in 2008. It's got a bit more oomph about it than the 2007 package the UK used.

There was nothing too bad about the updated UK music apart from the ‘thinking music’, the £500 - £1000 remix was decent but then it just progressed to thuds and bumps

My favourite sound effect has always been the one where the contestant walks off into the tunnel which has happily remained unchanged throughout

The biggest problem was by 2007 Chris was visibly less enthusiastic about things, then they introduced the stupid clock to tip him over the edge!

This is Tarrant's last episode in 2014. When were the prizes changed and was it all celebrity editions towards the end? To be honest I kind of lost interest in the show around 2004 and thought it ended in about 2010. I was surprised it ran as long as it did.

They introduced it more as a daytime show in 2007. The show then adopted a 'clock' format like in America in 2010, and it ended in 2014. It became horrible after it became daytime.

Yeah. The 2004 Super Millionaire version wasn't bad either - at least the intro.

Super Millionaire also introduced for the first 5 questions the music we now have in the rave version that was brought in 2007.

Not sure that’s right - I think it was a subdued version to the original 1-5 music. The 2007 rave track was different.

The 1-5 music used on Super Millionaire is what was used on the 2007 package just 'raved' up.
