NBC commissioned their own font for their owned stations division. It doesn’t have a fancy name but is called “Arthouse Owned” internally. You can find the details here at NewscastStudio. It replaces FF DIN which was used on the Look N packages used by their NBC stations and Gotham used by their Telemundo stations.

Now my eye isn’t trained for fonts especially with small differences but here are two images provided to NewscastStudio by Arthouse. First is the old look using FF Din.

And here it is using ArtHouse Owned:

I honestly can’t see the difference there but the lower third looks much clearer.

All images come from NewscastStudio.

Perhaps this could lead to the other NBC properties that use Gotham (CNBC, MSNBC) to switch over to the Arthouse font. For the 2019-20 Premier League season, NBCSN recently switched to the Sky Sports PL package and font but still maintains their music and its own scoreboard.

The O and the G are slightly more rounded, but apart from that I'm not sure.

They also have a corporate font NBCUniversal Rock in serif and sans versions. The sans version could look good on air.

The D is also more rounded and the centre stroke of the E extends further

KBLR, Telemundo Las Vegas, moved into a brand new 22,000 square foot building recently and it’s NBC’s first facility to move almost all of its news and production infrastructure in a private cloud located at their KXAS/KXTX Duopoly in Dallas Fort Worth.

Here are some more details, camera feeds are sent back as JPEG-2000, there’s subsecond latency and two diverse 10 Gb paths utilizing the Comcast backbone, which will converge into a Comcast mesh network arriving at KXAS and KXTX with 100Gb connection.

Does anyone know if NBC moved out of ITN/Greys Inn Road. During today’s impeachment hearings they had their chief foreign correspondent, Richard Engel live from London. I’ve never seen this space before at ITN and their small insert studios there don’t look like that. So I’m wondering if they’re moving into the Sky campus or perhaps this is a new DTL camera (the ones the have at ITN are the newsroom and a monitor wall backdrop) or perhaps he was originating from somewhere else completely. Regardless it’s a new aesthetic from the current DTL / plasma backdrops they had before.

NBC Democratic Debate Stage - Tyler Perry Studios Atlanta (The Oprah Winfrey Stage) - The debate is tonight on NBC. I hope it looks as good on tv as it does in pictures.

It will look good. It’s the same set as their first NBC/MSNBC/CNBC debate - only this time in a soundstage as opposed to a theater.

Its been designed by their go to design firm ClickSpring. ABC's looked terrible on tv. The screen behind the candidates was horrible and distracting. Cannot believe it wasn't checked before making it to air. NBC and ClickSpring always does a great job in design, technical aspects and lighting.

EDIT: It does look good on television.

Was catching up on my YouTube subscriptions and thought his clip from Samantha Bee (from a few weeks ago) was pretty funny:
