Looks like the final nail in the coffin for London Live: Lebedev looking to sell it to - you guessed it - Daniel Cass and That’s TV:

No real surprise and it is not the first time they've shopped it around. To be fair, it should have been put out of its misery a long time ago. The recent round of lay offs are a clear sign that an end is in sight. I wouldn't want to be one of the last people there turning off the lights.

Wonder whether this retrenchment by That's TV will affect the possibility of them buying London Live?

I would be amazed if they buy London Live now. It is running out of options. It's a dead duck. I wouldn't surprised if it disappears over the Christmas holidays. A final few days of repeats and then come midnight... *poof*

If this happens, I wonder what would take its channel slot?

Its capacity on the mux would surely have to be put out for re-advertisement as it's reserved for the holder of an L-DSP license.

If local TV were no longer a thing then I guess EPG rules would mean that eligible channels could move up a slot. So BBC Four, could conceivably 'replace it on the EPG', if nowhere else. But as local TV wouldn't necessarily die (as a concept) with London Live, it would likely stay dormant while there are other L-DSPs, elsewhere in the country.

The BBC missed a trick really by not switching BBC3 and 4 before BBC3 closed so they could hold on to the 7 slot.

Do they do any original programming other than the "news" nowadays?

I don’t think so. I do believe they did have some original/acquired stuff but dunno if it’s still being made/shown.

Surprised they haven’t stopped broadcasting to be honest...
