The West End Final is actually the first edition of the Standard these days.

The later edition is called West End Final Extra.

No news at noon due to a power cut. Katie Pilbeam did a video for Instagram where she mentioned that she's pre-recording most of the 6pm bulletin. My guess is they're having to send it directly to Comux to playout.

Red Bee does the playout for London Live, Comux just distribute it I think.

I thought Comux does all the playout for the local stations too?

For most of the others I think that's right, yes (no idea but wouldn't be surprised if STV do thier own).

London Live's playout is at Red Bee, it's a slightly unusual set-up with the kit directed remotely from a different site and the production in Kensington themselves triggering the ad breaks during live shows.

ESI Media apparently in talks to sell off London Live. Made and That's (please no) have been listed as potential buyers, as is CBS and Discovery.

Was bound to happen eventually with how badly the local TV experiment has done.

Surprised they hung onto it for so long, really. Mind you, a daily five-minute London news opt-out might fit CBS Horror quite nicely Sad

London Live MD Tim Kirkman said: "Local television is a fast evolving sector

Good grief-What a load of belligerent claptrap. 'Fast evolving sector'?

Yes, heading fast into oblivion. Selling off London Live (and I doubt it to Made Television, given how the output is on an all day loop to save money, only way Made are buying it would be if the ES are going to flog it for a quid) would really signal the end to this Jerry Hunt's project.

The only advantage to That's TV not getting their hands on the local licence for London is that the population is large enough for non-local tv media groups to be interested in.

Daniel Cass would have to dig deep for London, it'd cost a bit more than a set of podium sofas and Fruit Shoots set backdrops.

"A fast-evolving sector" versus STV's new guy saying "the simple truth is there isn't the audience for local television." https://twitter.com/BBCPhilipSim/status/1004658622561947648?s=20

A change in ownership at London Live and a further deterioration of the service is the only thing likely to shake some politicians into action at Westminster. Thing is though, does it actually receive any public money any more or any benefit aside from a very good Freeview EPG slot?

It's easier to rally people into action if they think their money is being wasted. It becomes a meh media talks about itself story otherwise.

London Live may as well be a text service with weather, news, travel, tubes etc. Maybe linked up with radio station audio, and some local static ads.

At least that way it would provide some form of public service, and offices / public places etc. might have it on in the background.
