GMTV's, they pay for them. In Northern Ireland UTV don't provide the regional news, GMTV Belfast does instead IIRC and there are no longer any sub regional news bulletins on GMTV.

What about when the 3 regional news bulletins are being shown on GMTV - is it GMTV's airtime or the ITV regions? Im guessing its GMTV' airtime.

Why does GMTV transmit on ITV2?
ITV only has the franchise for 09:25:00-06:00:00 on ITV1, whereas ITV2 was created as a totally digital channel -24 hours a day- and as such GMTV doesnt come into the equation.
Therefore does GMTV pay ITV(2) to transmit on their channel?
Well I am not sure to be honest with you, but I believe it is a technicality issue, as apparently if any ITV station which has a channel on the same Multiplex/MUX as ITV1, GMTV can apparently claim ownership of 06:00-09:25 for some bizzare reason, it's the reason why ITV News is off the air from 06:00-09:25 on Freeview, as the ITV NC shares the same MUX as ITV1 and 2. Though on Sky and Cable the ITVNC is on a different MUX than ITV, as it was probably the same place used for the ITN Channel before it got bought by Carlton and Granada. I don't know if they pay so much per year to the ITC for broadcasting on ITV2 and News, though for £35Million+ to the ITC to broadcast on ITV1there's no reason why they shouldn't broadcast on ITV2. Though for a while when ITV2 was on CWC Analogue they showed TV Today from 06:00-09:30 on ITV2, as they wern't allowed to show GMTV:2, the reason being that ITV2 was on seperate channel space than ITV1, though they got the issue solved. But God knows why on NTL Digital, if you look through Favourites or press the i button on ITV2, it has to come up with ITV2/GMTV2, while if you do the same thing on ITV1, it comes up as ITV1! Strange.

Talking about tommorow for a brief sec, I can bet you that either Eammon or Fiona will start the show at 6.58am tommorow using the phrase "back to school", making the assumption that everyone who watches GMTV either has school kids or if they do that they go back today, its just a small point but let's see if I'm right!
They;ll probably have new weather sponsorship as well as Waterscape.com is probably not appropriate for September

Being pedantic to a pedant! I love it. OK then, ITV have 09:25:00-05:59:59.9 (recurring), GMTV have 06:00-09:24:59.9 (recurring)
I was actually trying to illustrate that GMTV broadcasts between 6:00-9:25, rather than it being a 3 hour and 25 minute programme strand on ITV.
Oh dear dear dear, I am going to pick holes now
'ITV2 was created as a totally digital channel'. And? Are 'totally digital' channels not allowed to have split service providers?
ITV2 is marketed to the public as a 24 hour channel in the same way that ITV is. But again, in a technical sense it isn't. The difference between GMTV2 and ITV2 is the same as that between GMTV and ITV - GMTV2 is not programming on ITV2, it is a separate broadcast operation and GMTV own that space between that timeslot, they are not borrowing/hiring/or doing anything with it in conjunction with ITV2. Infact the DTT listings for ITV2 list 'handover to GMTV2' in the 6AM slot. And back when ITV2 used to close down overnight, ITV2 was 'back at 9:25'; not at 6.
Have you ever wondered why it is that when the ITV News Channel moved to D3&4 on DTT it started disappearing when GMTV is on? It's because GMTV own the space so ITV can't fill it with their own services - in theory (although they don't and never will, so I don't know why ITV can't come to an arrangement over this, but) GMTV could actually use the space on DTT taken up by the ITV NC to transmit a third programme service if they so wish.

Erm. There are two threads open, decisions.. I decided here would be best.
I quite like the new News Hour titles, ever so slightly old ITV news-ish, and the music hasn't changed. Presumably the featured presenters that morning would be on the titles -- or else John and Penny, with her cowboy boots, would be on them all the time. They're still using the old ones into the weather mind.
It looks a little bit night time-ish, rather than 6am, though I'm afraid I don't know why. Some captures ~

I wonder if the GMTV Today titles will have that clip of Eamonn and Fiona waving manically? I do hope so.

GMTV have obviously got their hands on a new graphics package, and have gone for lovely shiny graphics, which is nice.
The new GMTV Today titles look good, but the theme has gone a bit wishy washy, it's not as pronounced as it used to be.

Basically just under half of the D3&4 MUX is for Channel 3, just under half is for Channel 4, the rest is Teletexts. Just like the analogue channel 3 ITV1 and GMTV share and neither can broadcast on each others time.... the same is true for the 47% of the D3&4 MUX.
Though on Sky and Cable the ITVNC is on a different MUX than ITV, as it was probably the same place used for the ITN Channel before it got bought by Carlton and Granada.
Sky and Cable ITV aren't licensed and regulated like terrestrial ITV

Yes its a typical example of a theme being jazzed up out of all preportion. It seemed a bit quiet as well as Fiona said that it didn't seem to be working, as the bed seemed to continue over the titles
