Not looking good.

I'd better not be sitting in the IBC (almost) on my own for noting Wink

Warning: soppiest post ever.

Well, with the end now firmly in sight, and with the odd trivial exception - mainly concerning remote controls - the BBC really have come up trumps again.

I say this after every major Games, but it's really hard to see how any other British broadcaster can do it so well. Even internationally you'd be hard pushed to find a broadcaster so invested in Olympic coverage.

The montage of the middle weekend during the review show this evening was a real cracker.

Although I'm quite sure the BBC will do a perfectly good job with their rights, and that Eurosport will provide as much content as the devout fan wants them to, it is a real shame that this will probably be the last multi-platform BBC Games. With the exception of the odd big football match or a big Royal event, there's very little that brings the nation together like the Olympics on the BBC. It's quite a feat that they pull off once every four years.

In London I was lucky enough to attend 17 events in person. Which was amazing. Sublime. Unforgettable. But attending events in person can leave you a little detached from the rest of the Games. As I've mentioned before I've stuck with the linear coverage of Rio and thanks to that, I've felt completely invested and fully immersed in these Games as a Team GB fan. Much more so than being in London in person.

My £145.50 a year is worth every penny. Just for this.

I'm off to embark on a period of mourning for the passing of the Games. Thank goodness for the Paralympics.

Same problem as the opening ceremony with the sound. I've switched immediately to the commentary-free option.

You'd think they'd have learned from that. The sound here is awful, you can barely hear it.

If you can access the commentary free option switch to that, though the loss of context is annoying.

Sounds like BBC are unplugging and switching sound cables around there..

There have been power issues tonight - at both the IBC and and the stadium, it could be related to those.

It's like 2012 all over again...

In London were there two power cuts affecting the IBC just before and one just after the closing ceremony began? Wink
