I take it from the above shot that NBC has adopted the generic Premier League graphics then? Have all countries other than UK and Ireland now done so?
Eir Sport acquired the Irish highlights rights to the Premier League at the very last minute incidentally. Now while I didn't see it so can't confirm, I am given to understand they aired a Premier League Productions highlights show rather than continue with their own Premier League Central.

Yeah looks like I will have a look at Bein today and see how they've done it, Star Sports will very likely be getting PLTV stuff so that's where you can watch the now awful PLP studio

Who was the BBC1 Scotland CA that introduced Match of the Day last night by saying "I never thought I'd say this, but here's a ma in his pants!"? Mum thought it was hilarious!

NBC have always used world feed graphics on Extra Time, which is their streaming service. They tend to use their standard house-style on their networked output.
Here is a screengrab from the early game yesterday.

Well, if that's the justification this channel may as well show anything they like. Not sure how that fits in with their remit as the unique public service broadcaster than shows stuff nobody else dares. Not sure how giving millions of pounds to Formula One fits in with that.
I don't know what's wrong with those graphics. They don't whizz about but so what? They are extremely clear and at a time when channels seemed to have used HD as an excuse to make everything much, much smaller and fill the screen with more distractions, I welcome a broadcaster using the opportunity to make them as clear as possible.
They're supposed to be giving us information, not making us work for it, and I don't see what the problem is. I know for a fact that there's at least one other sports broadcaster that has Final Score on in the studio on Saturday afternoons because it's so clear and easy to follow.
You'll note another opportunity for an advert on Sky this season, just before the kick-off for the second half. It's actually ten years since the start of the animated hoardings in the Premier League. How quickly we get used to all this stuff.
Does the advertising revenue from popular sports like racing, F1, darts pay for the shows for BAME audiences though?

Final Score graphics as ugly as ever. Did think there was a small chance football might move away from yellow with BBC Sport getting less generic in recent months. Look even uglier compared to what BT have debuted this afternoon.

This was the channel that showed Friends, a programme that could easily have been on any of the other commercial broadcasters and indeed moved to Sky One for a time. Their first programme was Countdown, a game show, not exactly high art. They've always mixed in popular and populist programming with stuff for a cult audience or minority audience. To me that is diverse.
They've shown themselves, with a few exceptions, to be highly adept in providing sports coverage over the years. Look at what they did with the Paralympics - turned it into a real television event on the level of the Olympics, employing a truly diverse range of presenters and creating a show that's become bigger than the coverage itself in The Last Leg.
(as an aside: If there wasn't the whole legacy with ITV, I wonder if Channel 4 would be showing horse racing at all considering it comes across as one of the more elitist sports on television)
I try not to defend commercial television companies too much but I feel as though people come down too hard on Channel 4 when it's just as important as the BBC to save, whenever the government tries to surface ideas to sell it off or weaken it somehow.

When they commit to a sport they do it incredibly well. The cricket coverage was outstanding, as was C4 Racing for most of it's run. The athletics was a rare fail back in 2011, and to be fair only the presenter was a fail. The rest of the commentary team remained in place for the Paralympics and will mostly remain for Rio.
C4 really need something they can take ownership of and effectively become the home of, but there isn't much around at the moment thank to the depth of the pay-TV market now. I guess F1 does tick that box to an extent but losing the rights before they'd even aired their first live race really killed any chance of their coverage gaining momentum, and any reason for C4 to put the effort in.

If the look continues into the new Bundesliga season, it seems that their horribly dated graphics will continue for another season. They're on the German Supercup now live.
