Wimbledon 2016 (being shared with Eurosport)

The main studio used by Sue for the live coverage still had a big desk though, on the recoloured London 2012 set.

I note that the BBC iPlayer and Sport App are both to continue switching feeds between matches, with all the metadata issues that involves, rather than maintaining a feed per court which would be far easier for the keen tennis follower to navigate.

Is it me or is Wimbledon starting a little late this year?

Was pushed a week later from last year, to enable a longer Grass Court season build up.

Probably also helped the BBC, as Wimbledon starting last week would've caused some clashes with the football.

Is that a new score box this year or was it like that last year?

And is it me or is there a sound issue on BBC2?

That awful BBC2 ident is back.

Cheap and some would argue cheerful, but the awful framing of the '2' when it cuts to the second close up of it is unforgivable.


At least have the thing visible in the centre of the screen, not half-way off the edge of the right-hand side; what on earth were they thinking?
