Because different things happened on each of them.

The 6 o'clock news is on BBC2

Unless you're in Wales where it's on BBC1 (the tennis there moved to BBC2 to make way for the football team arriving in Cardiff)

They've just done a piece celebrating the Wimbeldon theme music which is 40 years old this year.

The question is what theme music did they use 41 years ago?

Wasn't it Arnold Steck's composition "A Sporting Occasion"?

Didn't they use different themes for live coverage and Today at Wimbledon until possibly the 90s. When did Today at Wimbledon begin actually as they used to use the Match of the Day brand.

They'd have fitted perfectly in the EU Leave campaign!

I wouldn't honestly expect anything different, other than perhaps a little more than 90 seconds notice to people to hunt for the remote - as they did on Wednesday.

It's rather late to tell people at 18:07 that the Six is on BBC Two.

However, regional news is a 'moveable feast', and can appear at any point between now and 8pm as a filler to bring the schedule back on to the hour/half hour.

Looks like regions knew as early as 16:45 that the plan tonight is to push the regional news back:

So we could have the situation where Wales has had its news on BBC1, Scotland and Northern Ireland on BBC2 at 18:30 while England shows a filler (Nature's Wierdest Events if you're interested), and England has to slot its regional news in later leaving the nations to find a filler (Wales and NI were opting out at 19:30 anyway so presumably will keep them for that point).

Presumably it's different tonight because it's the semi final?

I'm easily amused, but entertained by the fact BBC Wales are having to follow "The news is on BBC2" network straps with the equivalent of "Ignore that London nonsense".

I take it the regions can't opt-out on BBC2 so they have to wait for the Murray match to be over, whereas the nations (and London) can if they wish? On that basis presumably everyone will hold back to avoid complicated opt-out hell?

Andy Murray was in the early stages of a match at 6pm on all three days.

Either of the options chosen over the three days could equally have been used on any of the other two with the same outcome.

The business they did on Monday is definitely the strangest, especially considering Murray in the 4th round is hardly a big deal.

They could easily have done the same as Wednesday tonight, or do tonight's option on Wednesday though.

English Regions can't, but Nations can. (London can't, as they're the sustaining feed for BBC Two HD)

Unless Birdych "does a Federer," and comes back from the dead, then this could be over before 7pm.

The regions can't opt out on BBC2, not even London. Only Wales, Scotland and NI can.

When England opts out, Wales and NI can show what they were going to show in place of A Question of Sport, and Scotland will need to find a filler for 30 mins.
