No, it wasn't live. The live editions from 2011 were shoddily produced tbh so it was better recorded.

I hope the contestant choosing their own safety net twist is gone. I found that very redundant. Mind you, Ask the Host was also redundant as Jeremy never gave an actual answer!

Think about it. The contestants are only going to use Ask the Host on questions they don't know the answer to. That means it makes sense that Jeremy also wouldn't always know the answer. It was just bad luck that that happened every single time last series!

It wouldn't work if the host always knew the answer. I also like the strategy element of the moveable safety net but it didn't really become to much of a factor last time.

Ask the Host was a brilliant addition I thought. I’m very excited for the new series - Clarkson has made it unmissable once again.

They’ve sorted out some of the oddities with the graphics from the first series.

The money tree now in the old, proper font is a major improvement on last year’s horribleness.

The title sequence used tonight is the same as the 20th Anniversary, with a slight alteration which says ‘MILLIONAIRE’ and then flips to the main logo.

The camera angles are a lot more professional and less rushed. Very reminiscent of the classic format (1998 - Mid 2007 - before the 12 question format).

The correct font is being used (Copperplate Bold) for the Money Tree.

The music is less jerky than in May.

Very good and solid show so far.

Yeah. The money tree is back in the original font. There was some nice quips about Piers Morgan & James May in there from Jeremy.

I just like how quickly they fire through it now compared to the dying days of the Tarrant era (ironically faster than when they had the 'big bad clock'!)

Very easy questions so far!

Compared to last year where the questions seemed a bit on the difficult side it seems to have flipped the other way going on what we’ve seen so far.

I always thought the pre £32k questions were usually fairly easy anyway
