I also have never heard of it. I know it's only easy if you know it but it seems a pretty obscure reference for such a low value question.

The nightmare of appearing on this is not knowing one of the early questions, especially the first. I've never ever heard of Davy Jones Locker.

It wasn’t something I was familiar with, but I assumed it wasn’t any of the others.

Beside from the big win, I don’t think the strategy of having only seemingly well paid professionals is really paying off, with so many crashing out this series.

Agreed. This doesnt work and the amount of risks that don’t pay off have been quite high. So much more potential for drama and more relevant wins if it’s people who you don’t expect to win a lot being the players. Throw in a few pros to make it less dull, but as someone said before, Fiona Wheeler and Rachel Da Costa contestants are what made Millionaire

It doesn't help that Clarkson views a £16k win and sometimes even a £32k or £64k win as a failure.

I knew it because it was featured in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead's Man Chest.

Yeah, I think that’s the big difference between his style and Tarrant’s. Tarrant used to seem like he wanted people to walk away with money that was going to change their lives whatever that was. Whereas Clarkson is obsessed with big numbers. That said, I think if Clarkson was given contestants for whom a low 4 figure sum was life changing, he’d maybe be a bit more enthusiastic.

Clarkson has framed his whole hosting around wanting to give away the million, and to some extent he even gets a tad - jokingly - upset when people walk with half a million. I get the impression he desperately wants it to happen on his watch (his nerves during the phone a friend on Tuesday seemed quite genuine) and as said, life changing amounts for other people come across as a bit second rate to him. Goodness knows what his angle will be if he does get to ever give it away - perhaps he will get bored of it but hopefully not

Bad news for the Fiona Wheeler and Rachel Da Costa fans, Barry the bog cleaner from Bognor definetely isn't walking out of the studio with a million quid tomorrow

Everyone is definetely encouraged to apply, they handed out little 'apply now!' business cards to all audience members - I wonder how long it takes to complete an application which may be putting some people off vs. the old way of a quick phone call (or 500...)

I guess we can be certain they'll be a nurses special at some point in the next year. On every show going I suspect.

'Mum to Johnr' based on her reaction tonight to how the last contestant was stupid for not using the lifelines and how she definetely knew most of the answers sat in her armchair...

Yeah, they had some poor contestants on that episode. What type of animal is a gnu? Contestant, with lifelines intact, confidently said Llama, final answer. But the correct answer was antelope. Shocked
