Two brothers were merged into one character for the drama.
Wow. The apostrophe was incorrect, unless Diane had more than one brother.

There's no chance Sony will ever release the raw footage uncut if it even still exists.
Such a let down. The heavy editing just takes away from being able to watch the episode as though you’d watch a normal WWTBAM ep. Really hope the real raw footage will be released sometime soon

What was the original schedule and what was actually broadcast?
Since schedules were disrupted by 9/11 I'm assuming it didn't go out on that night but since Chris Tarrant refers to it being Tuesday in the second programme, did the first part actually get broadcast as scheduled?
Did they even finish putting the second programme together?
The coughs in this are clearly amplified.

I see, so they were recorded on 9th and 10th September and were due to air the following Saturday 15th and Tuesday 18th?
Both Charles Ingram’s episodes were turned into one shown on the Saturday that first episode would have aired, without Charles Ingram.

I’m surprised that they didn’t put in extra measures after all of this. I suppose the only way would have been to encase the contestant and Chris in some sort of sound proof booth, which wouldn’t have looked aesthetically pleasing. Though am I right in saying that’s what happened on the $64,000 question?
Now is the ideal time to record a series with no audience!

There was 'The People Versus' shown during the daytime/teatime which I vaguely recall being a spin-off to Millionaire.
The People Versus started life as a prime time gameshow with Kirsty Young. It was later downgraded to teatime and Kaye Adams took over.

Wasn't there a planned 50:50 spin off as well for daytime but I don't think it got as far as making it to air.

The million pound cheque was dated 18th September, so presumably they dated them for the planned date of broadcast.

He clearly did it (in my opinion), even regardless of the coughing, nobody plays the game like that, dismissing answers and then going with them.
He says he was doing it deliberately to make good TV, but even so people don’t dismiss answers, they just talk around all possible answers.
The fact the bloke on the end didn’t clap when they won was some key evidence as well.

They did, because it used to be implied that it was live, although they never directly said as much.
