Whilst we're all anxiously awaiting the ITV mega-rebrand tomorrow, I thought I'd treat those who are interested to some TV listings (from the London edition of the Daily Express) for a Monday morning in Summer 1990. There are four images (they are huge, so your browser might try to squash them down):

Firstly, the listings for BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4.

Secondly, the listings for Thames - strange that they referred to it as "ITV London" even back then! This image also includes the regional variations for Yorkshire.

Thirdly, the regional variations for Anglia, Central, TVS, TSW, HTV, Channel, and also S4C.

Finally, the listings for the Sky and BSB channels. Look, there are music programmes on MTV!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed that little trip down memory lane - I know I did when I found those listings.

Interesting to see schedules from nearly 15 years ago, only 1/2 hour of soap in peak back on ITV back then with World in Action and the cook report on instead of lots of soap. Great to see some of the ITV Regions showing A Country Practice at lunchtime, I loved that, London seem to be showing 1/2 hour episode and TVS showing a 55 minute episode. HTV had the Sullivans on a Monday and Tuesday though IIRC, with Young Doctors on Wed/Thurs and ACP was on a Friday for an hour.

Also great to see several regions showed PCBH in late slots, and good old Playbox on ITV at lunchtimes, that was my fave show as a kid!

Most papers did - I suppose it was easier then having to change it every weekend

'News From Every Angle' BBC1 3:35 sounds rather good. Was this a one off programe or a series?

Interesting to note that TSW has the second showing of Home & Away on at the very strange time of 3:25pm (with most regions other than Central and Thames showing it at 5.10pm) - of course the lunchtime episode was moved to 1.20pm during the First Gulf War, which is where it roughly stayed until they dumped it shortly after the show's move to Channel 5 was announced.

And who else remembers Families ? It got axed in Autumn 1993 if I remember rightly.

Playdays! I used to watch that when I had days off primary school. I remember this time!

Yes I remember Families, it was repeated on Granada Plus when they first launched, Jude Law was in it.

Tuesday was Let's Pretend [and later on Rod Jane and Freddie].

I notice S4C had much less foreign on then than it does now -- I don't know what campaigners whinge about. Mind you it was only the other year it still shut down at 1am, which was a bit pathetic.

Cheers for uploading them, though I find it somewhat bizzare that

a) The Sports Channel (BSB) starts up at 1.25pm!
b) More weirdly that the DJ Kat Show was also on Eurosport at 8.00am!

Looking at it now, I find it odd that TSW would have rather had Home and Away at 3.25pm and then to find they're showing Families at 5.10pm, that wasn't even that good!

Now for Home and Away, the teatime varied across most regions, most had 5.10pm or 6.00pm (Granada had 6.00pm, but when they extended the regional news it moved to 5.10pm), though I remember Border was the only region until 1999 that showe HAA at 6.30pm!

Plus I think there was a point where the News was shifted in 1991, as it states there that the News is on at 1pm, but by that time next year it was back at 12.30pm and where it has been since.

I thought Rainbow was shown on Tuesdays as wel. For some reason I thought that Rainbow was shown twice weekly. Let's Pretend only lasted the early 80's and Rod Jane and Freddie although I can't remember it at lunchtime but I do remember it being on CITV in the afternoon.
