Safe to say there were no Friday titles then.

Nope, the new titles minus ‘with Phillip and Holly’. A shame that they can’t use the summer titles on Friday’s with the end summer shot amended to either Eamonn & Ruth walking to the studio or one of the new adapted outside shots of TVC.

The summer titles are massively inferior though.

Is there another New Broadcasting House now Manchester Oxford Road is gone?

The one in London was called that until around the time it opened when it became just 'Broadcasting House' officially. However the 'New Broadcasting House' name stuck and it is referred to as that.

Operationally 'NBH' is used a lot either where names of things were decided way back when it was being built, or to distinguish the newer parts of the building from the original which is 'Old Broadcasting House'. The reception area in the original building is referred to as that for example

The initials LBH for 'London Broadcasting House' are used internally too

How much of the original Broadcasting House is used now by the BBC? Or is the largest amount of space now located in their new extension?

All of it is used by the BBC, its just that not a lot of it from when it was originally built. There's a lot of original features at the front including the reception area, theatre and board room, and art deco features in the lift and lift lobbies, but the interior was largely rebuilt (and even before the redevelopment it had been changed many times)

The newer bits of the building are far bigger, old BH makes up only a small part of the site

I have been past it a few times, I always wondered how much they used, because when you walk by your focus is of course on the new extension, especially the new glass entrance and the plaza. Nice look, but does not have the same impact as BBC Television Centre had.

Broadcasting House holds far more than it was originally intended to when development started. They couldn't not use all of the space available in the building, whenever I've been there there's barely been a spare desk

Yeah, it’s definitely as though they liked whoever produced the 2015 version and wanted to do their own. Worth it though for that lovely drone shot of TVC. The entrance was pure Going Live/L&K/Blue Peter!

Phil’s slightly less ambushed in this version of the selfie too Laughing

On the close up of the “Television Centre” wall, is that what’s left of the old BBC logo in the top left corner?

The BBC logo was taken down in 2014, with one of the letters smashing to ground into pieces. Staff said it was the ghost of the building.

Fair enough. On the wall it looks like marks from where it (or the previous logo) had been.

Yes - compared to lots of other BBC buildings (PQ and Salford in particular) NBH, Peel Wing and OBH seem to be far more densely populated (OBH maybe slightly better).

In many areas the original desk layouts have been squeezed to fit more people into the same amount of space, and it's common to see people working in communal breakout areas when they can't find a desk. Even with the bulk of BBC Studios moving back to W12 (they are now based in the Broadcast Centre mainly) the building is still very full (as other parts of the BBC have moved in or expanded)

How much staff are based at the Television Centre site? BBC Studios are of course in the old news centre site, and of course there are the three television studios, with TC2 and TC3 probably run by ITV mostly with BBC Studioworks just there to oversee.

BBC Elstree is the main hub for television production I assume, as it seems this is now there permanent headquarters. I have heard the deal between BBC Studioworks and Elstree which ends in 2020 will almost certainly be extended again, another five years I have heard.

Finally broadcasting house is the main admin headquarters, it would be obvious. It is a very cluttered building. Huge amounts of staff have to work there, especially with the vast news centre and news output.

Wogan House is a great help, as it means BBC Radio 2, 6Music, BBC Club and offices are there to ease the load at times.

I thought News Centre at TVC was demolished?

The News Centre being the newest bit at the end? The spur? It's definitely still there, walked past it an hour ago - now home to BBC Studios. However I don't think much of the interior is still there, if any. Looking at it where the newsroom was is now an atrium type affair.

That's kind of what I was getting at, the suggestion was that there are several NBHs, the only ones I can think of are Manchester (now closed) and the not quite official name of part of LBH.
