A few weeks ago I was talking to someone that works for ITV Daytime who said the new studios are numbered in the order that they'll be used through the day. So, 1-GMB, 2-This Morning, 3-Loose Women. I said "what about Lorraine?" and got a kind of shrug and something about most people considering it the Loose Women studio as that's what most of its facilities will be geared around (audience entrance/reception etc). It's the "daytime show with audience" studio.

But I'd say out of all four shows, Lorraine's probably the least likely to return. And if Loose Women gets axed, they'll surely replace it with something else audience based.

The biggest puzzle is what are they going to do to the trees that would surely block the view of the new Studio 2?

Cut them down? It wouldn't be too difficult for them to get permission and plant new trees elsewhere.

The trees are actually on the South Bank itself, not on the land owned by ITV, so they can't just cut them down as they belong to the City of London (possibly Lambeth?). I think they'd probably be a fair bit of public outrage at them doing that for the benefit of This Morning as it's actually a nice part of the South Bank to walk along.

I would assume that they have considered the trees in planning the location of the new studio and the floor to locate it on - they'll probably be in the view of the windows but I'm sure the view of London will still be easy to see above the canopies. At least they won't have the problem in winter. Very Happy

I like how you noticed the weird sting and not the fact they started the menu out the front of TVC and ended it already sat on the sofa ready for the first interview. Very Happy One of those segments was clearly pre-recorded so perhaps that's the reason for the odd menu ending.

Reckon the Dynamo interview was pre-rec before they decided to do the intro outside, otherwise they'd have made mention of having come inside.

There was, IIRC, a little bit of outrage when the trees outside the studios were supposed to be chopped down for the now-mothballed Garden Bridge development, so I don't think many people would like it to happen.

I think mothballed might be an understatement. It's not happening...

The new ITV HQ development was designed with Garden Bridge in mind. Initial sketches showed the bridge leading directly in front of the new building. Such a shame.

Pfft, are you joking? How much do you know of the background to this project – famously known as a vanity project and for good reason?

Wonder if they came up with the term 'production village' to please accountants and the board - sound much more affordable that studio centre.

They didn't come up with 'production village' that's a term that's been around for years. Teddington Studios marketed it's production space as a production village

In those plans its just seems to refer to the production space for those particular programmes. That's what it means - a collection of different production teams, it doesn't refer to the centre

The closing credits for today's show just went really weird just now. Started with 'Presented by' then cut quickly to the slide with 'Line Producer' at the top, then back to the slide with 'Studio Operations Manager' (that should have followed after presented by).

We then cut to the final card where the Head of Production, Executive Producer, Series Director and Editor role is credited - before going back again to the Line Producer card and resuming as normal... just with the ITV Studios Limited 2018 copyright at the bottom. I don't have the video but will post it as soon as it comes up.
