This Morning added a fireworks effect to their end credits today, for Bonfire Night that is coming up.

They added Halloween effects to the credits at the end of their Halloween special.

It does liven up those bland black credits. Programmes should be given the freedom to overlay the credits on whatever background they want, ensuring legibility isn’t affected during the squeeze.

Or why not get rid of the end credit squeezing.

I'm not sure why the end credits are still required to have black background - they're squeezed to a quarter of the screen now anyway so they're mostly illegible (the tiny font size doesn't help). It made sense in the last ITV1 package where the ECP blended in with the end credits design.

I quite like the Christmas title, I imagine they’ll reuse it for the next few Christmases until they update the titles.

Philip is mentioning more and more that it’s their final year on the South Bank , therefore this is why they’re making a big effort with the bow outside.

They said this when they done the mural in the car area.

Are they not returning to the South Bank once the London Studios have been renovated? I was under the impression studio 8 was the only studio not being touched (or only being updated), but for safety this Morning would move across to Television Centre with the rest of ITV Daytime..?

I think they are returning once the renovation is done, I imagine they need to move not only just for safety but the lack of gallery since that’s going once The London Studios is demolished

Perhaps the implication is that Holly & Phil are unlikely to still be with the programme when it returns to the South Bank.

The entire site is being demolished. A new, taller residential tower is going in place of the existing one and the only returning studios are ones for Daytime production.

Who knows what will happen in the next six years. I wouldn't be surprised if Phil is still there in 2022 but not Holly.

Studio 8 isn't a part of the main site and is remaining. It's located on top of the shops, bars and restaurants on Gabriel's Wharf and not owned by ITV.

They've gone on record saying they'll leave together.

The internal infrastructure is owned by ITV though. It's highly unlikely anything will remain or return there once the main ITV site is closed. I can imagine these being demolished sooner rather than later once This Morning leaves.

So can I clarify, the move to TVC is only temporary, and they're moving back to the London Studios once the work has been completed? Or is this move permanent? Do we know?

They will eventually move back to the South Bank but it won’t be returning to studio 8, there’ll be a new custom built studio for it in the new ITV offices.

Ah - I hadn't seen that announcement. I knew that there were new studios being built for the other 'studio' shows (GMB, Lorraine, Loose Women) but didn't know that they'd announced This Morning was relocating too.

I can't see Gabriel's Wharf getting demolished anytime soon. It's a pretty successful area of independent traders and to close it would face a lot of opposition.

Just to be clear to those who don't know the area., this is what is underneath Studio 8:

And everything suggests these units will continue trading, so any talk of TM leaving for safety concerns is nonsense. They're leaving because they rely on staff and facilities elsewhere in the building and it wouldn't be practical to remain.

However, that's not to say ITV would ever return there. It would make a pretty decent restaurant with those views, (perhaps as an extension of The Wharf) but they'd be stupid to relocate This Morning to the Southbank without views of the Thames.

Of course, who even knows what sort of state ITV Daytime will be in when they return. Not all the programmes may survive that long.

None of those buildings are underneath Studio 8, all the buildings in your picture are in Gabriels Wharf. Studio 8 is next door in Prince's Wharf.

PS, The faux paintwork you can see on the side of Prince's Wharf was carried out by LWT.
