Also, I send my sympathies to Ruth and her husband. I didn't want to believe it, but it was something that was hard not to realise really.
A great shame and she seems to have taken it perhaps harder than most. I'm sure the future is bright for her though, in her new house and she will no doubt fall pregnant again soon. She is clearly a professional and remained composed in her job, returning last week to what she is good at, with dignity and courage.

I saw Ruth present the weather on the 23rd [on Page 8 of this thread], and that's how the conversation started.
The newspaper article Whataday posted is from the Western Mail dated 22nd Jan saying she returned the night before, 21st, after a 5 week absence. So I must have seen her second night back after that break.
Returning to a bit more of a news theme for the thread, HTV News just revealed some findings of a report that says Wales has:
~ The highest rate of child poverty
~ The highest rate of teenage pregnancy
~ The highest number of kids with no qualifications

LOL tonight on HTV News both Neath and Swansea were mentioned!
The showed lots of the city centre as people are worried how it was affect business's especially the pubs on a Saturday if Swansea City F.C go out of Football league.
And they also featured Neath because of the Rugby match tommorow and also cos of that woman and the lion!
Anyway Ruth just did the weather - she didnt seem very cheerful at all and sounded like she was gonna burst into tears any minute - poor thing.
Oh and Richard Horseworthy is doing the late news so remind me not to watch!

I cannot stand watching HTV News when Horseworthy is on! He annoys me more than Andrew, Staurt and Catherine all put together.
I guess Ruth isnt *that* bad
I feel really upset for her now she's lot her baby- Maybe from now on she wont annoy me so much! She looked so cheerful that day she was switching on Xmas lights or something - remember! She never really annoyed me when she did the news, only on the weather so she should stick to the news and leave the weather too Emma Jesson!

I havent seen Chalie for ages. Emma or James seem to do the most - Ruth only does it a maximum of twice a week.

Ive just looked through my tape and lucily I hadent gone over the episode of Shortland St from Wed 15th Jan and on the mid afternoon bulletin after SS on that day the new presenter was on there and he is called Geraint Vincent. I didnt know he was from ITV News though? Is he permanant as I havent seen again since then?

When is HTV Wales News getting a new look?
They've had the current look for ages (March 2001). HTV News usually revamps every 2 years.
In 1999 the yellow studio was brought in, then in 2001 it changed to the current set.
I hope a new look is on the cards soon

I totally agree with you. I think it was the 8th March 1999 and then 5th March 2001 that HTV had it previous new looks so one is due around March I expect!
I hope they keep Jonathan and Lucy as the presenters of the 6pm bulletin though and we dont end up with Andrew Jones and Catherine Evan-Williams or something!
