Sky Sports Revamp

The channel name on the EPG is certainly Sky One HD on Sky+HD boxes.

and Sky Q.

I'm not talking about the channel name on the EPG, I mean the TV Guide home screen graphic that appears when you press TV Guide and you are presented with the options for Guide, Catch Up etc.

You’d wanna have good eyesight to notice that! Particularly since they shrank the buttons.

Isn't he in Northern Ireland? He lists BBC Newsline and UTV as his regions.

The Catch Up TV graphic also needs updating. Old Sky 1 and Atlantic logos.

That has been updated, that isn't a picture of my set-up, its an image pulled off Google images just to show what I'm talking about!

It made me curious to check, but the ROI version does indeed have TG4 and 3e there (and Sky 1 HD).

And our catch up graphic has been updated...

The rugby ball on the introduction to Championship rugby (which hasn't changed in 4+ years as evidenced by this exact copy here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vITQXy_9S9w) hasn't been updated / reskinned / touched up in post, which means you now have an old Sky Sports logo on the ball, while the new one is overlaid just next to it.

EDIT to be fair it is a f***ing awesome sequence.

For the NFL on Sky Sports, they made a quick edit to remove a pan of the old Sky Sports logo that occured at the start of the titles, and then replaced the logo on the shield. The sequence no longer looks quite right any more though.

Worse though, as viewers of that particular sport probably know, Sky, er, borrowed that intro from their friends at Fox Sports, and a blink-and-you’ll miss it Fox Sports logo in it (near the end of the titles) that they didn’t get rid of now seems to be on screen for more than a blink.

Wouldn't it have been simpler to just redo the logo CG at the start? It wouldn't be much different to the edits done to Sky Atlantic's idents, would it?

Seem to be back to last years fonts on Soccer Saturday now and the start of the show and the break bumpers now have regained their music rather than just a single swish which sounded really odd.

It's better than it was before without the music but the animation and the music don't sync up very well like the ones before the relaunch.

I know they’ve already been aired on Championship Rugby, but the new rugby union graphics looked pretty nice for Barbarians v NZ today.
