Great find. They even have one of Bid's favourite Audio Network tracks and a look-a-like set. I wonder if this was all created since Bid closed or if they were planning to launch anyway. They are on channel Sky 682 from 18:00 - 19:00 each day. Did anyone see it today? I assume it isn't live.

EDIT: Further research suggests it is these guys (Bright Ideas TV) with a slight rebrand...

OMG! The Whizzy Mop.

Their set seems to be influenced by the last price-drop TV set!

WARNING: I just phoned the number for Discount Store TV. After the automated message confirmed that I was through to Discount Store TV, I pressed 1 to place an order. For some reason, this put me through to some guy called Oliver who was watching Two and a Half Men on ITV 2. I spoke with him for a while. Nice chap, I don't think he works for Discount Store TV though. If you decide to give him a call this evening, please be polite and say hi from Television Forum.

Self employed "call centre" agents perhaps? Operating in a similar model to those sex chat lines? Certainly cheaper to run a call centre type operation like that. Possibly a mistake though.

"Our Bet's" eyesight is not what it once was, she certainly needs a big button telephone...

Is this not a re-badged Yes Price Crash? The music is certainly the same.

I'm also pretty sure I've seen Discount Store TV appear on the Mall channel a few months back, so it isn't new.

Hmm, wonder if they've been reading this thread because the video and the account has been closed!

Well, I'm sure we'll all find replacements for Bid and Price-Drop.

What would you suggest, Shane?

Well, at the moment, I'm looking for a shopping channel that sells top-quality products and features some very friendly presenters. However, I'm not very successful in my endeavours. If only Bid and Price-Drop didn't change so much...

To be honest, I think it will be extremely difficult to find a shopping channel to match our criteria. I don't actually buy from them, but I like watching them when there's nothing good on TV.

I wonder what the members of the Shopping Telly forum are talking about after Sit-Up Ltd.'s demise... I'll go and check! Very Happy

Canis are selling the two Sky EPG slots and are also involved with the two DTT LCNs (though these have to go with the business).

Since Canis published that article, it's been confirmed that bid's DTT (Freeview) channel number has now gone to local TV stations in Scotland and Wales. Comux confirmed this to me on Twitter recently.

There are very strict rules on keeping a Freeview channel number when a channel goes off-air, and it always seemed unlikely that another company could buy sit-up and retain channel 23 under "new channel" rules, which would have demoted the channel to the bottom of the channel list if it was anything other than like bid tv.
