That was when they changed Sky News to "Sky Snooze" in the EPG- how mature.

Didn't Richard Branson get mad about that and demand they change it?

Yes, I think he did.

Yeah, it was only up there for a few hours, but Branson saw some easy PR in apologising for it. It was at pretty much the same time they rebranded from NTL to Telewest, and it was quite bewildering at the time - waking up one morning to find a new name, a complete rebrand, completely new menus, a shuffled around channel line-up and those weird names.

One thing that did come out of it was that Virgin arranged for Setanta to be made available to all customers of its largest package, as a sweetener for losing the Sky channels, which continued through ESPN and BT and is still the case thirteen years later.

Just to note that as of today, Kingsmill bread is no longer sponsoring The Simpsons on C4.

Clearly didn’t think paying to sponsor the Simpsons was worth the dough.... Very Happy

I found the sponsors to be annoying, and I am glad they’re gone.

Crispy Creme would be fitting, considering Homer's love of donuts! Laughing

Anything with high sugar content is unlikely to be a sponsor given Ofcom's strict ruling on junk food advertising.

I dunno mind - last Saturday, none of the episodes carried the sponsorship, but then the ones on Sunday did. I think the sponsorship is only on effect after a certain time, so it might still be there.

Let's hope the next sponsor isn't as annoying. It's a pretty high bar.

I think they're only shown during the weekdays.
