Really not a fan of Donal Skehan this morning. Would have preferred to have seen the likes of Theo Randall present instead!

Never seen it this morning so can't comment personally but Donal was getting rave reviews on twitter saying he is the best guest presenter so far and calling for him to get the job

I thought he was rather good.

I though he was good as a newcomer, really natural, until I found out he'd presented hundreds of cooking shows on RTE.

Maybe not the right fit for Saturday Kitchen whose viewers probably prefer an older man, but he should be the right fit for some other cookery show, it'll give the Beeb an excuse to invent another food show as there isn't that many on TV.

As you say he has presented shows for RTE for years but he has judged Junior Masterchef on CBBC in 2012 and 2014 alongside John Torode replacing Nadia Sawalha

Not to mention he has a show on Food Network, Follow Donal. More than experienced.

You know this weeks was bad when the guest cooks and Jamie Oliver had to step in and rescue the presenting side of things!

Got to agree, from the top of the show it was a car crash from Gennaro Contaldo and Antonio Carlucci. Joe Hurd, Anna Jones & Jamie Oliver really saved the show! Cannot imagine what it would've been like had they had different guests on!

I only saw a little of it but it did seem like a very odd, mish-mash of an edition.

They really need to find a presenter and stick with that person rather than this guest presenter every week. It works on Have I Got News For You, but for Saturday Kitchen it is not working out.
SuperDave and Custard56 gave kudos

I don't think there's such a problem with the guest presenter arrangement so long as they find people who can actually present! Gennaro Contaldo or Antonio Carluccio are not presenters and do not speak fluent English so I'm not sure what they thinking (or indeed expecting) letting them present a fast-pased, interactive, live cooking show...

Yesterday they may as well of had Jamie Oliver present. Wouldn't have been a car crash

I would only like to see a perminant presenter if they're able to secure a big name like Jamie. Otherwise they've got a good thing going with these guest presenters (for the moment at least!) because they're getting relatively good names in to present. Not sure who they've got lined up next???
