Trust I Hate not to know where foot-and-mouth, or even Foot and Mouth, started; as BBC Bristol were telling everyone it was in 'Brougham' for two days after it started; as somebody had put 'Bromham' (correctly) into the spell checker, but not checked whether the output had been changed to something incorrect!

You what Nick?
I was talking about a story they were running at the start of the week about foot-and-mouth (correct) was first detected in Somerset in the 60's.
When the first two cases in the West in 2001 were confirmed at Bromham, near Devizes, Wiltshire; all the BBC's TEXT services, web, Ceefax, etc, were referring to 'Brougham' for two days, until somebody finally corrected it.

no they weren't!
That's my job you are critisising there, and baring in mind I worked for five years at the local radio station in THAT COUNTY I don't take kindly to being told I don't know how to spell Bromham.
If it happened, it may have done once but I know FULL WELL it didn't happen for two days.
They ALWAYS talk over all the ending music at lunch/weekends if they can. David Garmston usually talks over the music and about 5 secs afterwards too.
Nothing ever really changes though. We had two stings in every program for about a month but that has stopped I think.
They are now putting new people on. They are REALLY bad.
I like the weatherman. he is quite fun. But, after about 15 minutes, the story gets VERY boring and pointless. Quiote a few mistakes too. Nobody ever talks about this program on this forum. sad really.
