Given the timings for the previous Sky News rebrands (May 2010 / May 2015 IIRC), I wouldn't be surprised to see a new look launched at some point in the next few months.
News will be the interesting one. Can’t picture the logo working with the current style of titles.

I'd like that. I don't know many people who like how it's looked since 2015. Seems like most people feel it's bland at best and horrendously dull at worst.

Perhaps due to have gone live with the new (now postponed) channels?
27th May 2020 is the suspected launch

The launch of the joint NBC Sky World News channel, would be a good chance to refresh the UK version at the same time. Sky News Arabia will be several versions behind now, and Sky News Australia will once again be out of step

Arabia is ahead of the UK if anything. They have moved on from a look that matched ours to one that’s more rounded.
Australia pretty much do their own thing now.

What I think is striking is that here, Sky Germany has relaunched Sky 1 to sky one just a couple of days ago, and still has introduced the "old" sky one logo. In August sky sport is also planned to relaunch, but as I got it correctly with the CURRENT sky sports look from 2017. I gather that sky sports also gets this treatment, so why not wait and standardise the logos between Germany Italy and UK?

I think it will coincide with the revamped Westminster studio, which is probably on a hold due to the current crisis. The second interim set is ready but hasn't really been in use so far, they still present from the main desk that is going to be revamped, so apparently no works have begun so far. I don't know how long it would take to reconstruct this studio, but I think it will be later than early May now.
