Looks like The Crunch has also finished in Bristol, along with the local magazine shows in other cities - certainly Birmingham and Leeds. Made have also announced 40 job losses across the network.
Yes, I noticed Chelsea Skipp has left Bristol.
Really sad about this as both shows in Bristol and Cardiff were miles ahead of what local tv should be doing in those slots.
A few random observations - MADE debuted their new quasi-network magazine show 'The Big Daily' last night. Saw the first minute or so; Levi Roots was the first guest, which may tell you all you need to know. Think Yorkshire's 'Tonight' or STV's 'The Hour', only perhaps a little less substantial. According to the website, Bristol doesn't seem to be taking it, although Leeds. Newcastle and Birmingham are.
MADE still take TRU TV for a chunk of the day, promos and all, which this teatime meant a trailer for 'Ice Road Truckers - weeknights at six' aired on MADE, even though they have local news at that time.
Oh, and the half-hour news programme seems to have rebranded as 'MADE TV News' on most stations. Strangely, it's repeated at 6 and 7 am the following morning, too.
Spotted at 5pm that they were still running a weather animation sequence starting at 10am today, so seven hour old weather to go with half-day old news.
First time I've watched MADE in a while. It's still bloody hard work.
It's a shame as I thought The Lowdown was a good part of the Made in Birmingham schedules.
Apart from the daily news which is dire and struggles to fill it's 30 minute slot, there's very little local content now.
There's some kind of dating show that is set in a nightclub in Birmingham but that could realistically be set anywhere.
They used to have the Made with Pride show for 90 minutes on a Thursday evening shown across the country which used to be mildly entertaining but this seems to have disappeared too.
Even what was half decent Made Television seems to be failing now. These local channels aren't much cop at all. Ofcom and the government needs to be reviewing the quality of these local licenses they've issued and how realistically they serve their local audience.
Haven't seen it yet but what The Big Daily seems to be is a networked show (from Birmingham) with local opts.
The local news programmes are now called Made TV News, but only seem to have one newsreader for the whole network. I'm not sure how that works, whether it's a national news programme with local opts or they just pre-record each local programme.
The changes are clearly as a result of cost cutting and it's heartbreaking in a way because no one has put more effort in than Made to try and make these local channels work. And even now, as they're seemingly having to cut things to the bone, they're STILL trying to improvise and maintain a decent standard.
It will be a great injustice if That's TV outlives Made TV.

With a live final that went as well as expected:
Quote:
But Irish singer-songwriter Cathy Stuart and Birmingham man Peter Mallett were caught on camera in a heated war of words with other contestants.
Stuart said live on air: “It’s all a lie, everything is a lie and everyone is horrible, they are playing on people’s emotions and they shouldn’t have done that.”
She also called her experience on the dating show ‘s***’, while Mallett dubbed other contestants ‘fake’.

Brilliant. I saw jobs being advertised for this show ages ago and wondered how it could be anything other than a disaster.
It was supposed to be the show everyone in Birmingham was talking about. I've never heard anyone mention it (and I work in an office where they're constantly talking about what waa on TV last night). It's filmed near where I live but there has been very little if any publicity locally.
Just can't see any saving of this mess now considering aggregation clearly gasn't helped. Notts TV seems to be the only one that's even halfway respectable now but be surprised if they're making money to keep it sustainable.
Well apparently MADE TV is now showing a CBS Reality Block, called CBS on MADE. Well at least on Made in Birmingham. Seems like TruTv is no longer airing.
It features true crime programming and Judge Judy every day between 9am–11am, 1pm-5pm and 9pm-2am
