If they could find a British Wendy Williams that could sit nicely in that slot.

I tried to think of who fits that description but I couldn’t think of anyone.

Not British, but they could just move The Ellen DeGeneres Show which is currently shown in the same slot on ITV2 (I'm aware this has already been mentioned in this thread).

Hmm I don't think an import would work to bridge the gap between Lorraine and TM.

For those that don't know, Wendy Williams sits in a chair and talks about pop culture news, followed by a guest or two.

I agree it's hard to think of someone appropriate. I'd have said Scarlett Moffatt in her pre-Takeaway days but she's very Marmite now.

Emily Atack?

I think, at least in the short term, Judge Rinder is one of the more appropriate replacements for the JK show. It's more likely to attract a similar audience to JK than Real Deal does. Then, if it performs well enough, ITV can try other formats in the afternoon, or show Real Deal at 2pm, and Tenable at 3pm rather than switching between the two.

Whatever they show it needs to not crossover with any content that may appear on Lorraine or This Morning, as otherwise all the shows would merge into one.

Does anyone have a copy of the 09:25 junction on ITV yesterday morning, to see what was said in the continuity announcement?

I wonder what was said on STV and UTV? Do UTV still receive continuity announcements during the day, or just clean idents?

According to UTV thread:
Anyone know how UTV handled Monday morning at 9:25am?
A Jeremy Kyle announcement would have been pre-recorded by Gillian several days earlier....and as we know would not have been played out as planned? So how did they announce a last minute change to the schedule, anyone see what happened?

I've been reliably informed that there was a generic, pre-recorded announcement from Gillian, that made no reference to the Kyle programme.

Another article from a former guest who claims he attempted suicide a few years after appearing on the show. He specifically mentions the Youtube exerts as causing him distress, which begs the question why ITV haven't suspended their Youtube account as well:
Quote:
He said the real damage has been caused by the show’s decision to upload clips of his appearance to YouTube with hyperbolic captions describing him as the rudest and most hated guest ever.

These have racked up millions of views, creating a constant stream of fresh abuse from people watching his appearances for the first time. Davison said these viral clips undermined the impact of aftercare phone calls from the production team. “It’s like stabbing someone in the back multiple times and then asking if the person is OK.”

I think that is a big issue with TV now - not just the online clips but also with the constant role of repeats too. It's not a case of you have your TV appearance and then it might get repeated once or twice - there is a cycle of repeats which push that one moment of your life back into the public domain whether you like it or not.

He also seems to say within an hour of contacting the show they were picked up and taken to a hotel to film the next day.

Yes - Don’t Channel 5 have to constantly re-edit ‘Can’t Pay? We’ll Take It Away’ to blur people’s faces who have complained about being featured and then had their episode repeated over and over?

I think with GDPR, Data Protection, etc etc, we can't be far off the stage where everyone's face will have to be pixellated out on all TV programmes. At least it will save a fortune on make-up costs.

I didn't have the recordings running for UTV, but did have them on for STV. Although the announcement is fully tailored to the changed 9.25 junction, it isn't the same male announcer as the rest of their daytime announcements for Monday had. I think it's been said before STV's daytime junctions are pre-recorded by whoever is on the previous evening's live shift suggesting how late the change came in.
