Would be an entirely different concept on Netflix .... The show relies on collective viewing, live feedback and 'buzz',
Does it; how ? Most people I know (myself included) PVR it, and watch(ed) it during the week,
I contend for impact it needs a significant point of delivery appointment to view audience to create the gossip around the show which sustains it. Most here are sophisticated viewers, who tend to neglect, I know I do at times, the reality that the vast majority of viewing is still done on linear channels in real time. That's a huge catalyst in its popularity, remove that and it would fail rapidly.
Of course they could, the international sales would fund the show.
The trio could easily go to a new channel with a new name. I can imagine the trailers now - "New home, new name - same show."
Would you as a potential buyer of the show, take the risk of paying up front for a product that's undergone a 'change of regime' ? Equally, would a commercial channel fork out (or be able to borrow) the cash, on something that may not be a 'dead cert'
Also, name me one programme, format, or performer that has 'gained' (or even maintained stature) by moving from the Beeb to a commercial channel ?
You'd have thought with a major missing person investigation now in its seventh year in their patch, and
the UK on a critical level of security, they'd have enough on their plate already, without
'looking for things to do'
(Not that in any way do I condone or support what Clarkson did on that night)

Yes, they've got their hands full spending hundreds of thousands of pounds of public money suing pensioners for publishing accurate articles about them online.

I'll give you two, Ant and Dec.
Yes, fair point though (I think) they were actors in a BBC children's drama series, whereas their ITV work
was always as hosts of 'Live LE based' shows ?
The failure rule can work the other way too, Davina McCall anybody ?
