Very rare I say this about anything ITV does, but these are really good, less said about the astons the better because they suck but I don't know whether they will be using them for the match.

Right this is where I find a cave and bury my head in the sand for the next few weeks.

It has finally come. Hurry up the finals!

Sorry if any pictures don't appear, my Personal webspace is playing up.

Anyway ITV are broadcasting in 16:9 but the match is in 4:3 meaning a red border to the left and right, AGGGGH, BBC better not do the same.

I've only just seen it's in 4:3! I forgot about this and was expecting widescreen! Marvellous!

Thank you whoever supplies the TV pictures! You have made me watch it in full 4:3! I can't stand pillarbox.

ITV are using just the main broadcaster's camera's, which are obviously 4:3, but I remember reading somewhere that the BBC may have their own cameras as well as using the main broadcaster's, which will probably 16:9.

The BBC would just 'crop' the images anyway.

The Sponsorship bumpers on ITV1's coverage are very dull this year.

They won't do that to Sport though, in the last World Cup, it was BBC who were using the default feed, while ITV had their own astons, but this time it's the other way around, the BBC have nice astons, especially the live match astons which are coming directly from the venue!

ITV's own red astons are pathetic really, but the main World Cuppy's astons are excellent(from the broadcaster), but ITV's own representation of the astons are not too good, and the scoreboard is too big, while the Beebs is perfect!

No offence, but I thought the ITV titles were pretty poor and boring- I hate the overdone Japanese cultural things which both BBC nad ITV have done.

They both had much better titles in 1998 (though this years BBC titles seem to be a rip off of 1998's ITV titles!) And of course the classic music of Jean Michelle Jarre and Apollo FourForty was a grat theme for ITV in '98!

In my opinion, a good World Cup tune, is one you can kind of sing along to, hence why the Match of the Day theme tune is so successful.

I'd like to hear anyone who can sing or hum along to the BBC's tune this year!

I think they've choosen a good track actually - it's modern and has a certain Eastern feel to it. Okay you can't exactly sing to it but I think it sets the right mood for modern BBC football coverage. Things have really turned around since the days of Des at the BBC and the last world cup.

It's interesting that this year the BBC have gone for a dancy theme, while ITV have plumped for something a bit more classical - the opposite of last time! I think they're both pretty good.
