Did ITV have a problem playing out adverts last night?

I watched Law & Order UK on ITV HD (Central region) and there were no adverts at all. The breaks consisted entirely of promos. Surely prime time on a Saturday night is a lucrative slot for advertising revenue?

If I've understood correctly they're only allowed a quote of adverts per hour but this is measured as an average across primetime. Therefore they can 'front-load' adverts into more popular programmes (BGT would be my guess) at the expense of less (but still relatively) popular programmes. I presume this is why the regional news and news at 6:30 on ITV rarely has more than about 2 actual commercials in the entire hour.

Ejector Seat with Andi Peters, this is a strange one isn't it?

I quite enjoyed it, although that was episode 1 of 30. I am not sure I will still enjoy it after 6 weeks, this should have been on once a week really. The main questions were quite easy, I could probably count on one hand the number of questions I didn't know or couldn't guess. There was genuine jeopardy too, someone could quite easily smash their skull open and it didn't seem too slow either which seems to be the fashion on many game shows recently. I wonder if it was originally meant to be a bit more serious, the set and music didn't really seem to fit with the slightly jovial nature of the programme.

What with The Voice, John McEnroe's The Chair, the pop video to Michael Jackson's Black or White, Phoenix Nights and now Andi Peter's Ejector Seat, this really is the television era of moving chairs.

I would drop the end game, it should have ended when the penultimate person was ejected. It seemed slightly anti-climatic when Peters announced "You are going home with £500". It would have sounded much better if he said "You are on your way to Chessington World of Adventures" or something similar.

I expect Lenny Henry enjoyed it though.

7.2 out of 10. Would watch again.

Re: The Paul O'Grady Show, caught a few minutes of the start today. Is it not a bit strange to have a photo of Paul behind the desk, on the shelf behind him?

This was probably mentioned ages ago but I've just noticed an app called ITV Essentials which lets you watch Corrie, Emmerdale, Loose Women, TOWIE and Jeremy Kyle in a few European countries for £4 a month. I didn't realise the demand for Loose Women in Slovakia and Kyle in Gibraltar was such but there we go.

I read about it when it was first unveiled. It's aimed at ex-pats.

I'm sure it used to be free!
