From the set design, it looks very skewed towards Scoop, while Side Up looks slightly odd coming from it. Obviously having one set for two shows saves money and resources.

I just love Kaye... Sitting back with her feet up. This show is very promising.

Theme composed by Andrew Kingslow and James Knight - I'm assuming its library.

Sunday Side Up was abysmal. I mean truly, it was just unwatchable. Terrible content, Stephen was unbearable, the set didn't match the tone they seemed to be pushing.

It was hard to figure out who exactly it was aimed at; if it was meant to be for a younger audience why did they choose Stephen as host? I've critisised him in the past then grew to like him during Catchphrase but this morning really did prove just how unversatile he is. Strange how he being pushed as a real character when he is anything but.

I'd be intrigued to know how it was pitched to the commissioners when it was devoid of any real structure or worthwhile content.

I agree with others, Sunday side up was terrible. To me it had no clear format.
Sunday scoop, on the other hand was actually pretty good. It just needs some more structure to it. I really don't understand the set tho, they're making no use of the view whatsoever, they should just cover up the windows and be done with it. It looked terrible witht the blue windows, which i beleive is caused by the smartglass? When Daybreak was there they had the same problem of washed out Blue windows. All in all, the set feels rushed, and a little cramped. It looks as if daybreak hasn't left the studio, with the purple tags on the doors etc(i know the average viewer won't care) and the purple sofas in the green room, it feels they've not put much money into the set/studio areas. Especially the terrace, which they could make good use of.
Anyway, as i said sunday scoop was quite good, but i prefer Sunday Brunch.

What would the point be in buying new sofas, which will be hardly used? It would be a waste of money

RE: Prize Island. So far so good.

...no it's not.

Both shows were pretty dire. It felt like they'd been created purely to give ITV yet another platform to wax lyrical the dying 'X Factor'.

It does say something about the format when the game in the sponsorship stings seems more interesting than the actual show.

An adult version of Fort Boyard is due a comeback.

Although having 4 presenters across a 2 hour slot when 2 would probably suffice isn't exactly saving cash.

Only saw snippets but Sunday Side Up probably fails as it's not quite sure whether it's a daytime show on a Sunday or a fairly weak attempt to revive the more traditional weekend morning show. In trying to do both it fails at both.

Sunday Scoop seemed to be yet another bloody cookery show.

Prize Island isn't as good as everyone thought it was going to be after all. The main problem for me was the way it was shot. It looked more like The X Factor than The Crystal Maze or Interceptor and just came across as boring. Stop with the crane shots and post production effects, just point a few handheld cameras at it.

All in all, a pretty poor showing from ITV's new programmes today.
