We just got a brief glimpse of a VERY fed-up looking Phil Gayle in the London studio for the ITV News Network before cutting to a repeat from 8.30 with Chris and Heather.

Now the clock has been replaced by 'Recorded earlier'

Must say I like the Vote 2004 sting

After the break it was back to Phil and the ITV News Network

Any chance of some caps of this other half of the studio - I keep missing it (blame Hollyoaks!)

Now we're back to Chris and Heather with the showbiz news - 'recorded earlier'

I am presuming that this disruption to programming is restricted to the News Channel and won't affect the 10.30...?

London viewers just got a Meridian headline insert

No regional headline on the NC, and no DOG, clock or ticker

You just beat me to it James, there must be problems in the London Studio since we didn't get the ITV News Network earlier on the NC aswell.
Ahh well, it'll be good to see the Meridian news for a change, i bet the news will be better qualitly than LT.

So Felicity Barr is now in Athens for the Olympics

At the moment we know that Felicity Barr is main presenter from Athens, with Mark Austin joining her tomorrow. Juliet Bremner is main correspondant but listening to the way that Mary Nightingale say that Mark was joinging a host of ITV News reporters would suggest that there are many more over there - reporting on the athletes, the sports and possible security stories that may arise during the competition!

PS This might sounds a bit stupid, and also a bit obvious but, :-

Why couldnt Mary Nightingale present the ITV London News from the ITV News studio? She isnt doing anything else in that time - it would only mean reading another autocue inbetween items?

Surely that is a much easier answer rather than messing about opting in and out of Meridian News?

They seem to be constantly advertising 'Live with Joyce Ohajah' lately even though she isn't presenting at that time.

You'd think they could advertise a programme that is actually on, such as Alastair Stewart or Live with Mark Austin and Mary Nightingale

They have also been playing promos for Steve and Felicity, but that double act isn't going to be happening for a while if Felicity is in Athens for the duration of the Olympics

Half of the time it's not even Mary and Mark, I only saw a bit of at 3.55pm today and it was Mark on his own, though Mary turned up at the 6.30pm and the 10.30pm.

NC is still DOGless and tickerless.
