I heard a rumour that Granada+ is going to be rebranded as the new ITV Gold.
I heard that rumour, hence the above post - but my source said ITV+

So, if that does happen, and the Granada channels disappear, will Carlton Cinema and CFN become ITV Cinema (or ITV Movies Gold or something) and ITV Food? And what about OnRequest, will this be ITV OnRequest? Heh, and what about OnRequest Adult.......?
And another thing, I thought Granada's channels were still technically joint-owned by BSkyB? How will this affect things?
I can see me becoming a bit sick of the [itv] logo appearing everywhere
As I see it, Carlton would prefer to concentrate on their own products. Taste is a joint partnership between Carlton and Sainsbury's, and neither of them would want to change to ITV Food. The same sort of idea goes for Carlton Cinema.
What ever happened to Carlton World, Carlton Kids, Carlton Crime, Carlton Select and so on?
Anyway, I don't think ITV would want to become associated with Men & Motors! And how can Granada Plus become ITV Plus/3? They would then have to show non-Granada programmes, wouldn't they?

They already do. (Bullseye, for example - made by ATV/Central - part of Carlton now.)
Granada Plus shows plenty of non-Granada programmes. They have a lot of Thames productions that were traditionally shown on UK Gold, and more Carlton programmes are starting to creep in, which would have been on Carlton Select, like Bullseye for example. It also shows some US imports, like Kojak. It does seem to be gearing up to be more of an ITV Gold type station.
Anyway, ITV have some ambitious plans for multichannel, including ITV Talk, Movies, Gold etc. At least on On Digital, the bandwidth doesn't exist for all these stations to start in addition to what is already there. While CFN might continue, I can see Granada Breeze becoming ITV Talk, Carlton Cinema becoming ITV Movies, G+ becoming ITV Gold/+/3 and so on. It isn't possible for ITV/On Digital to do it any other way.

CFN is already dead - it's now called Taste°. G+ showed Emmerdale BEFORE Granada took control of YTV.

I would be very wary of ITV Talk - does anyone remember the failure of Granada Talk? The only good thing about it was the music.
I think Granada Breeze should stay more or less as it is - it seems to have a good general format. And do we really need an ITV Movies channel?

Breeze used to be called Good Life - so could ITV Leisure be a good name for it?
