ITV Christmas Idents

Its only Sky Sports and Movies that use Christmas idents since those horrible common logos were introduced . Just expect a sparkle effect on break bumpers for the entertainment channels, especially since both Sky1 and Sky Living only use program specific idents. Its a pity they don't put in the effort with presentation anymore, It would be great to see a Sky Atlantic Christmas ident but I doubt they will bother after a 2 year absence.

So, no Christmas pres this year then?

There will be, there was an advert casting people for ITV Christmas idents.

Think they're wise to hold it back, especially with I'm a Celeb running another week. Once that is finished ITV do have numerous specials in the schedules over the next two weeks, so it'll probably launch next weekend or on the Monday, in time for the Royal Variety.

Boring live action and stick a itv logo in front.

Was always going to be the way this year - I suspect they may deviate a bit in future years. They should do the job though - and at least they've got Christmas footage rather than a sparkle logo.

Think we got a glimpse of another during the start of the promo.

I'll probably be alone here, but I quite like the father christmas ident, its cheesy yes, but it feels quite christmassy, and the music is nice. And we saw another christmas ident before the promo so there is clearly going to be several idents.

I still think its a shame they are just all live action like the rest of the years idents, but they are better than not having christmas idents.

I hope they edit the promo end boards, break bumpers etc, but I have a bad feeling they won't

Least the Father Christmas'/Santa's look like they're having fun

The point of the logo on the idents is to blend in with the footage rather than stand out, so putting sparkles on the logo would go against this.

Not saying of course that they won't ever do that - it's just that new uniform identities tend to be more tightly controlled at the start (see BBC 1997)
