If most ILR stations, and I think many BBC local radio stations would sell you a mug or other items, and the BBC did have shops with items with different stations or programmes logos on, plus of course tapes and CDs, why didn't all the ITV stations do the same?
I'd have loved an Anglia mug, just to put it down and watch it rotate very slowly.....
There were occasional outbreaks of ITV stations shops/outlets where you could buy things with the logo on it.
You could buy Channel television mugs, teeshirts and sweatshirts from CR Regent shops in the early 1990's
CR Regent being the Channel Island version of Granada/Radio Rentals tv/video hire shops. Given they used the same C horizontal line logo as the tv station, me thinks there was a link via shareholding between the two.
Yorkshire had a shop in York, selling all manner of YTV branding goods, along with the usual collection of CD's/Video spin offs from the companies own productions. I brought a Telethon 92 sweatshirt from there in.. err 1992
Certinally the Granada 'G' arrow logo tat could be brought from the shop at the end of the Granada Studios Tour.
I'm sure someone on Twitter last year posted a scan from the Tv Times, where you could buy branded HTV Wales/West clothing, baseball caps, ties, pens, ect.
And something in the back of my mind, flickers with a thought that you could buy Thames merchandise from the reception area in the old Euston Road HQ.

I have gazoodles of ILR and BBC LR radio mugs collected in the 80s on my travels. Some are still pristine, others have faded through 30 years exposure to dishwashers. The worst one was a Radio 210 mug, where all the markings came off on its first wash !
In the 1980s, Tyne Tees, HTV, Central, and TVS ran split news services, i.e. there were different news services for different parts of the region. Tyne Tees ran it as an opt out during Northern Life, wheras the other three ran complete bulletins for the different parts. Which other ITv companies done this? And, if you visited a dual region, from a non dual region, such as TSW, what did you think of it?
I didn't know dual regions were a thing (apart from HTV) until I saw Meridian back in 2001 and noticed the weather map with only Kent and Sussex on it.

Anglia had a split news service for the East and West of the region when they axed the About Anglia name and it became known as Anglia News.

Why would you be aware of it? Normally you'd only see one of them so you'd probably not think anything was different.

Yes, late 80s they split, separate full bullitens for east and west
TVS already fully split between the South and South East, created a sub opt for Hannington (Thames Valley), and then another for Heathfield ( East Sussex)
In their 1991 licence renewal they proposed a third sub opt for Brighton.
Of course Meridian won, and they promoted the Hannington opt, to a full sub region (and dropped Heathfield)
Central added a third full sub region on Oxford and Ridge Hill (Oxfordshire/Glos)
I've lost track with YTV's various Sheffield and Belmont sub regions/opts?

I never really saw HTV as a dual region - I used to see HTV West as a different region to HTV Wales even though I know it wasn't. The regional news wasn't just different, but all non news regional programmes were too (aside from regional variation films and imported soaps etc), continuity announcers were also different (apart from rare occasions like weekend mornings and late night when they shared one announcer and everything was branded just 'HTV' not HTV Cymru Wales or HTV West.
To me HTV West was always better matched up with TSW/Westcountry just like it is now.
