Nobody seems to have told The Mirror about the lack of SMS / App voting in the UK...

Fans of Eurovision can vote in the official Eurovision app, by text or by phone. The numbers will be released live on the night when the individual countries can vote.

That means no voting for the UK in Tuesday's semi-final but they will be able to vote for Thursday's round as well as Saturday's grand final.

And also do remember that you can't vote for your own country - no matter how hard you try - you'll just pay for nothing.

"Hypothetically" if we bag it, I'm thinking another three presenter scenario, with Graham Norton, and then two from the following four... Tess Daly, Davina McCall, Claudia Winkleman, or the new golden girl Emma Willis.

Davina is the name that springs to mind for me - mainly because the French wouldn't be a problem but I think she'd be a much safer pair of hands for such a show than the likes of Tess Daly. The only thing is apart from a couple of huge flops a decade or so ago she doesn't really do anything for the BBC - but then again that doesn't stop her rolling up once a year for Comic/Sport Relief.

Claudia/Graham would be the safe option though I did think back in 1998 it was a bit messy having Wogan jump from stage to commentary box, so would prefer Graham not be one of the hosts. I'm still not convinced by Emma Willis but she'd certainly be in the frame.

I guess nowadays being multi-lingual doesn't even matter - don't think they really even bother with French anymore other than during the voting, so learn the names of the countries and count up to 12 and you're probably sorted.

OK, so my hypothetical 2015 UK hosted Eurovision is, Norton, McCall and Winkleman as hosts, in the Millenium Stadium, roof closed, and for the first time in Cardiff!!! Winkleman can more than handle the green room presentation. Live orchestra back, performed "in the round" . Voting via regional jury, telephone, Facebook, Twitter and Eurovision 2015 APP. # Together&Forever

I'd put money on it being staged in the O2, TBH. Although, due to sponsorship and advertising reasons it will be called the 'North Greenwich Arena' for the evening. Wink

I think this would be perfect for Christine Bleakley. And just out of curiosity, why do the BBC not allow viewers to vote via SMS or the App? Is it due to the vote rigging scandal from way back? Can't the EBU force the BBC to allow UK voters to vote in this way?

It would be great if we didn't wheel out the same old same old presenters as mentioned in posts above. Davina is a decent shout ref French, but I think she is not polished enough to run the show (Big Bro allowed her to gurn and ad lib somewhat - and suited her). Of the ones mentioned I think Christine Bleakley is a good shout. Could see BBC going for Alex Jones as a less entertainment show based presenter? Scott Mills would be a reasonably safe pair of hands. Sophie Raworth may actually work well?

I genuinely couldn't think of worse options. Why not throw in Chris Hollins too. Crying or Very sad

I'd say would/could be any of Graham, Claudia, Tess, Davina, Dermot, Zoe, Fearne, Reggie Yates? Nick Grimshaw? James Corden?

There is no way Scott Mills would get the gig unless his profile increased massively beforehand. The BBC would be right to go for entertainment stars and certainly not newsreaders.

A combination of Graham Norton, Emma Willis and Claudia Winklman would be the obvious choices in terms of who's in favour at the moment. With Norton allowed to do commentary during the performances.

I'd like to see Norton not retreat to the commentary box for the results though, he was just as funny when he did it as host on the Eurovision Dance Contests to the spokespeople's faces.

Have the days of booking Clare Balding for everything passed? John Barrowman wouldn't be a bad shout either - I can't stand him on most things (well, everything!) he does but they'd be worse options for Eurovision.

Had Jonaathan Ross remained with the BBC he'd probably be in with a shout. Wouldn't rule out Michael McIntrye either though really if he can't handle his own chat show I'm not sure Eurovision is the logical next step. Rob Brydon wouldn't be a bad shout either.

Graham Norton is the face of Eurovision in the UK and he'll have that job as long as he doesn't fall out with the BBC or decides he doesn't want to do it. I think it's highly unlikely they'd let a male who isn't Norton lead the presentation of a BBC produced contest.


It would be interesting to see if they would choose to have a separate presentation team for the semi-finals though.
