After watching BBC One and Eastenders - Before the opening titles they cut to that "Taking Care" thing, well lol, My nephew (very TV illiterate) turned to me and said "Oh, they've renamed it!" Class!
But just what is the point of "Taking Care"? I know charter renewals soon, but why is this stupid sign at the beginning of every programme?
Example:- BBC ONE, Fri/20/Feb/04, From 1:40 pm
Neighbours - featured T/C
Doctors - featured T/C
CBBC - featured T/C (Only a few programmes)
Newsround - featured T/C + special report on T/C on Monday
Neighbours (repeat) - featured T/C
Eastenders - featured T/C
Mad about Alice- featured T/C
and (unsure) but seemed that at every break was a flaming advert for T/C
Kind of milking it for all you can get BBC?

PowerGen, suppling power to everyone except the BBC

Isn't it just. All these circular conversations are doing my head in:
ADI: "When dad gets back - "
KAREENA: "He isn't coming back!"
ADI: "He is!"
KAREENA: <pained face> "Yeah... ok Adi, he is"
ADI: "Do you reckon he will?"
Argh!
*Repeat three times an episode with Ash depping for Kareena at certain times*
Depending on our 'friends' at the Home Office of course !
Anyone know whats happening with that ?

Indeed, this Adi thing with his Dad is exceptionally poor.

A dose of Laura's whelks tonight topped off with the usual Ferreira tripe.
Why won't the director just tell the actor who plays Adi what the character is supposed to be thinking. Clearly the lad doesn't have a clue.
Ash ("It's for the best") Ferreira is just as bad.

Yes and *Yawn* at Ian/Laura all over again. When's the poor woman gonna get a break? And how will the writers' evolve her situation from selling jellied eels to being killed off in an "explosive" summer storyline?
And a very predictable end to the Taking Care storyline, yet another nobody could give a toss about.

Going slightly off topic I think the who taking care season is a total joke! They have not done their research very well...

Although EastEnders is going through a bad patch at the moment, I think their Taking Care storyline with JJ and the Truemans has been well acted and looks promising - and seems determined to move beyond the hackneyed way it was introduced.
It must be the first time EastEnders has done a proper fostering storyline (as opposed to adoption or taking care of a child through other circumstances), and it's certainly a positive step to show an older, black couple discussing the option of fostering.
I'm also glad the producers have given the storyline to the Trueman family, at last it gives them something stronger and with greater emotion than the usual comedy scenes Patrick and Yolande usually get.

I think Adi Ferreira has a secret up his sleve... and why does he
always
act suspiciously like he as something to hide ...?! He should be the one who is killed off, not Laura! What is Ian playing at (Kathy's Cafe) ? He is going to be in trouble when Phil gets back. Pat and Mo are so funny, they think they can loose weight! Ha. The Story with JJ and the Trumans is excellent, and very well acted out. And as established above, it is to do with the Taking Care Season on the BBC. I like Shirley, she's a good charactor! And... is Dan Ferreira coming back?
Bring back Peggy !
